Description

Fast paced hike. Approximately 2 hours, over 6 miles and possibly over 7 miles. (No two hikes are identical). There are early outs.

Terrain: Easy to moderate, mainly rolling hills.

Cancellation notices: If cancellation is necessary, it will be posted on the afternoon of the hike, or sooner.

Pets: Friendly, well behaved dogs are welcome. The park requires dogs to be leashed at all times. It is possible that we will encounter one or more horses with riders or carriages. They have the right of way and you are expected to control your dog.

We are winding down the 15 year hiking series in November

This is a hike that is rarely if ever offered by other area groups - and one that has been a favorite for Westchester Outdoor N More- this will be a quick pace hike

Note: This a car shuttle hike meaning we meet at Bulls Bridge in CT and take cars back to the start of the hike at Route 22.

Please do not sign up for this one if you do not wish to be part of a carpool.

We did this hike last year in less than 6 hours - I am using 3:30 as an estimate for the end time -time also factors in car shuttle

Everyone starts on the waitlist. First spots always go to the regulars with a solid history of attendance.

Please check in with me if this is your first event with the group. I need to know where you have hiked recently just to make sure this type of hike is within your comfort zone and the comfort zone of the Saturday group

What to bring - water, snacks, hat, gloves -change of footwear for ride home

We are upstairs in the Mezzanine. If you have trouble with the temperature or stairs you can play downstairs next to the bar. There are only two tables. Dress in layers.

Bring a cushion and a canasta set or two decks of cards. We play Modern American Canasta. Try practicing Canasta Junction, a free app.
