- Mt Kinabalu Trek (22-25 May 2024)Mt Kinabalu, Singapore
About Mt Kinabalu
Mt Kinabalu (4095m), situated on the Crocker Range on the western coast of Sabah, is South East Asia’s and Borneo's tallest mountain. The mountain is part of the Kinabalu National Park, an UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000 and Malaysia’s first World Heritage Site.About The Climb
Majority of the climbers take two days to ascend and descend Mt Kinabalu. The 8.5km climb generally starts from Timpohon Gate (1880m), which is near the park headquarters (1800m) and on the southern side of the mounatin. From Timpohon Gate, it is a 6km trek up lowland rainforest, montane forest and alpine meadows to Panalaban (commonly known as Laban Rata / 3273m) where the mountain guesthouses are located. Climbers will spend a night at Laban Rata Rest House before starting the climb to the summit before dawn the next morning. The old trail to the summit from Panalaban covers a distance of 2.5km is on bare granite and open terrain. There is a new picturesque trail to the summit, i.e. the Ranau Trail. The new trail will take climbers from Panalaban at 3,272m to Sayat Sayat (3,668m) then continue on to the summit trail to Low's Peak at 4,095.2m. The new trail is 1050m in distance and has breathtaking views along the way. Climbers usually reached the summit in time to view the sunrise, before returning to Panalaban for breakfast. Climbers then descend the mountain, generally reaching the park headquarters by mid-afternoon.Experience Required
Climbers do not need to have any previous experience at mountain climbing. Anyone with a reasonable level of fitness and the willpower to push through fatigue and discomfort can climb to the summit of Mt Kinabalu. It is achievable and incredibly rewarding. At sunrise, the views from the Mt Kinabalu's summit at Low's Peak are spectacular, making all the effort worthwhile.Package details:

Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/aceadv/ - Yushan(Jade Mountain) 3952m - Taiwan's Tallest Mountain (2-5 Jun 2024)Tatajia, Xinyi Township
Yushan Main Peak, being the tallest in Taiwan and reachable in a 2-day trek, is hence, also the most popular. It is ranked #1 of the “Hundred Peaks” (百岳), identified by Taiwanese as great mountains of Taiwan. Many local and foreign trekkers climb it every year. Due to its popularity and a quota of 116 permits daily, the trekking permit, which is by ballot, is rather difficult to secure, especially for the weekends.
About Jade Mountain (Yushan)
The island of Taiwan has more than 100 mountains exceeding 3000m with the highest being Yushan(3952m) and 2nd highest being Xueshan(3886m). Both peaks are part of the famous "Top 100 Peaks of Taiwan" (台灣百岳). Yushan is also known to be the 4th highest mountain on an island and highest point on the Tropic of Cancer. Yushan is sometimes climbed together with Mt Kinabalu in Malaysia and Mt Fuji in Japan by trekkers to collect the special "Asian Trilogy" experience.Yushan has 5 peaks, namely North, South, East, West and Main, and can be accessed from Tatajia or Dongpu. Our 2 days trek is from Tatajia to the Main Peak and back to Tatajia. The total distance from the start point at Tatajia Saddle (2610m) to the Main Peak (3952m) is 10.2km. We will spend one night at Paiyun Hut (3460m/8.5km). At pre-dawn, the next morning, we will climb another 2.6km from the hut to the Main Peak to catch the sunrise view. This last 2.4km to the Main Peak can be a bit of a scramble on rocks with strong wind, especially at the last stretch, famously known as the wind tunnel. After catching the sunrise and descend to Paiyun for a quick brunch and retrace the route back to the start point of the trek at Tatajia Saddle.

Jiaming Lake (嘉明湖), located in Haiduan Township (海端鄉), Taitung County, is the second highest lake in Taiwan. It is a renowned alpine lake, which is nicknamed, as "Angel's Teardrop" because of its deep sapphire colour and round shape .
About The Trek
We start the trip in Hualien, do a 3 days trek and end the trip in Taipei.Jia Ming Lake trek is a 13km trail from Siangyang Forest Recreation Area to the lake and covers 2 of the 'top 100' peaks in Taiwan - Mt Siangyang (3602m) and Mt Sancha (3496m). Like Yushan and Xueshan, the Jia Ming Lake's trail is clear and well marked. The route begins in a pine and hemlock forest in the lower terrain. As you ascend beyond Siangyang Cabin, the forested area soon open up to become a ridge line of rolling hills filled with rhododendron bushes and wind-twisted alpine juniper all the way to Jia Ming Lake Cabin. From Jiaming Lake Cabin to the lake, the trail runs along the lower edge of a ridge skirting a chain of rugged peaks. The lake itself is down from Mt Sancha (Sānchā Shān; 3496m) in an open area.
Experience Required
Good to have below 3000m trekking experience. You will be trekking for three days from the trail head to the summit with a 5-6kg backpack load. Day 2 is a long day of around 10 hours. At times, when there is a dry spell and water is not available in the mountain huts, you will be expected to carry drinking water for the trek, which can increase the backpack load to 8-10kg. Though hiring of porters is possible, the cost is high (about S$200/day). Therefore, it is more realistic to train and be prepared to carry your own load.Package details:

Dinner at Balsam Cafe located within the Kinabalu Park HQ ends at 9pm. The airport transfer in this package is based on group pick up. As such, we encourage everyone to arrive at Kota Kinabalu before 2pm. This will give the group ample time to travel to Kinabalu Park HQ to allow some time for the body to adjust to the higher altitude + rest and in time for dinner. How to Sign Up :

Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/aceadv/ - Yushan(Jade Mountain) 3952m - Taiwan's Tallest Mountain (7-10 Dec 2024)Tatajia, Xinyi Township
