13D Tien Shan Ala-Kul Lake Trek - Sun, 28 Jul - Fri, 9 Aug 2024

Details

The Tien Shan mountain region is a vast and majestic mountain range in Central Asia, spanning across multiple countries including Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and China. Known for its stunning natural beauty, Tien Shan is characterized by towering peaks, rugged landscapes, and sprawling glaciers. The name "Tien Shan" translates to "Celestial Mountains", reflecting the awe-inspiring and heavenly quality of the scenery.

Kyrgyzstan, a land of rugged beauty, is home to a significant portion of the Tien Shan mountain range, boasting stunning peaks, valleys, and alpine meadows. Kyrgyzstan has a strong nomadic tradition that is still evident in the lifestyle of some communities. You have the opportunity to experience the nomadic way of life by staying in yurts and enjoying Kyrgyz hospitality. Trekking to Ala-Kul Lake is a popular and rewarding adventure, offering breathtaking mountain scenery and a pristine alpine lake. The lake is situated at an altitude of approximately 3,600m, which is also the highest camping ground for this trek.

This trekking trip, led by Joanne Soo, has been crafted to include extra days beyond our usual itinerary for the open group.

Join us on this trek to enjoy the serenity of the untouched wilderness and connect with the beauty of the surroundings.
