Your Ace Makerspace Woodworking and Metalworking experience starts here! First, get up to speed on shop etiquette and learn the ins and outs of sharing tools and space at Ace Makerspace. This one-hour certification class is required for ALL Wood and Metal Shop users.
Level: Beginner to Expert

What to bring: A notebook or well-charged phone for taking notes.
What to wear: Closed-toe shoes, short sleeves, and work clothes. Long hair must be tied back.
Safety Gear: Eye protection, ear protection, and hand sanitizer will be provided. You can also bring your own.This class requires a minimum of 4 students per session. If there are not enough students, we can issue a refund, otherwise refunds are not allowed.

Bandsaws for cutting curves and Drill Presses for precision holes! This workshop goes over the core principles of using these tools in the Ace Workshop including certification. This class is great for beginners and experienced folks alike.
Bonus: Learn how to use the Panel Saw to break down plywood sheets quickly and accurately.

Join others in our well-appointed electronics lab for a hosted, free-style night of electronics exploration and tinkering.

Age: 10+At Open Lab you can:
- Get help with your electronics projects including program microcontrollers
- Learn a new skill like how to solder or how to use tools like Oscilloscopes
- Get help getting started with electronics for repair, special projects, art, or cosplay
- Access tools and supplies to repair electronics in small appliances and electronic devices
- Your hosts have a variety of skills and access to tons of resources all in a well-appointed electronics lab set up for social distancing.

Add a little pep to your schlep! Make a fabulous tote bag while exploring beginner sewing skills in this hands-on workshop! Our knowledgeable instructors will guide you through the whole process from cutting fabric, to using a sewing machine, to basic construction, and more.

Location: Room #206 Textiles Studio

Age: 14+ (with adult accompaniment)This class is great for beginners or those who want to continue expanding their sewing project repertoire. In this class, we will cover:
- Practice using a sewing machine
- Quick and safe cutting with a rotary cutter
- Basic construction
- How to box corners
- How to put in a lining
All the fabric and supplies are provided. We will be using the Ace Janome sewing machines, so no need to bring your own.
