  • Ace Makerspace Tour

    This tour goes all the way through the 6 rooms at Ace! (there are stairs involved).

    This tour starts at 12pm sharp! One tour only this evening. Please DO NOT arrive more than 5 min. early or late as we will not be able to accommodate extra tours or early starts. Thank You.

  • Laser Basics and Certification

    This workshop covers the basics of safe laser operation for laser users. All the basics for certification are also covered.

    Certification: Laser Certification with passing knowledge check

    This class is for good folks new to operating a laser or needing certification. It does not cover file preparation in detail. This workshop is 3 hours and is part lecture and review and part practical experience.

    Folks will learn:

    • How Lasers work
    • Laser cutting fundamentals
    • Toolchain and configuration
    • Test cutting and setting determination
    • Basics of Laser SoftProgram limits and benefits
    • Startup and shutdown procedures

    This class requires a minimum of 2 people to run.

    Take the knowledge online knowledge check to complete your certification after the class.

    Class Scholarship Available
    We have a limited set of scholarships available for this class, funded in part by the other student fees. If you need a scholarship for this class, please submit this request form 24 hours before the event.

  • Jointer, Planer, and Tablesaw Basics

    The Table Saw, Jointer, and Planer are core woodworking tools that are great for beginner and veteran woodworkers. This workshop goes over the core principles of using these tools in the ACE workshop including certification.

    What you will learn
    Learn the basics and become certified on these major workshop tools:

    • Table Saw
    • Jointer
    • Planer
    • We will cover the proper use, dust collection, safe use of the saws, and shop protocols.

    What to bring: A notebook or well-charged phone for taking notes.
    What to wear: Closed-toe shoes, short sleeves, and work clothes. Long hair must be tied back.
    Safety Gear: Eye protection, ear protection, and all the hand sanitizer will be provided. You can also bring your own.

  • Heavy-duty Sewing Machine Basics and Certification

    Level up your sewing abilities and learn how to operate the heady-duty walking foot machines at Ace safely. These machines effortlessly sew through leather, many layers of denim, faux fur, and outdoor nylon.

    Certification: Certification of heavy-duty walking foot machines (Pfaff and Cowboy)
