Quilting Basics

Details
This workshop meets three times, on Tuesday evenings from 6pm to 9pm!
- September 6th - Rotary Cutting + Basic Piecing
- September 20th - Basting + Quilting
- September 27th - Quilt Trimming + Binding (Machine + by hand)
While we do provide some material, we found that students like to choose their own fabrics. A shopping list will be provided. Please wait to receive the complete supply list before making purchases, but in general you need about 4.5 yards of fabric to make a baby quilt & 10.5 yards of fabric to make a throw.
Level: Beginner and above
Location: Coworking and Textiles room in suite 206
Certification: No certifications are provided at this event
In this multi-session workshop, you will learn how to make a quilt of any size from start to finish. We will focus on accurate fabric cutting, precision sewing, and how to finish your quilt using machine stitching and bound edge.
While we don’t expect to finish the quilt during class hours, students will walk away having learned and practiced every step needed to finish their quilt. Additional sewing labs are also available in-between some class dates and after to help support you in finishing a quilt in the size of your choosing.
