Explore the key principles of safe CNC Router operation in the Ace Shop. Learn about how the CNC works, changing bits, safe materials for cutting, securing your project, and best practices. Students will leave with the information they need to operate the machine and pass the certification knowledge check.
This course is only intended to cover the safe physical operation of the CNC router. Students will need to learn the necessary CAM software independently or during a separate course: Intro to Fusion 360.

The Table Saw, Jointer, and Planer are core woodworking tools that are great for beginner and veteran woodworkers. This workshop goes over the core principles of using these tools in the Ace Workshop including certification.

Level up your sewing abilities and learn how to operate the heavy-duty walking foot machines at Ace safely. These machines effortlessly sew through leather, many layers of denim, faux fur, and outdoor nylon.
Level: Intermediate (sewing)
Timing: 2 hours
Location: Coworking/Textiles (suite 206)
Prerequisites: Basic Sewing Machine Competency and Confidence
Certification: Certification of heavy-duty walking foot machines (Pfaff and Cowboy)

Get going on your aspirational mending projects – you know that pile in the back of your closet with ripped clothes, moth-eaten curtains, and your favorite tote with the torn handle! Your knowledgeable host can help you choose the technique for your repair, provide guidance if you hit a snag, and share thrifty tips for successful mends.
