Let's take a real hike - Middle Fork Snoqualmie River

Details

Weather this particular day should be less hot than previous days and this is (hopefully) just prior to the heavier traffic and crowds of the holiday weekend. The plan would be to hike for approximately 3-4 mi. RT on this gorgeous trail along the river and enjoy nature and the scenery with each other. - This could also be a good introduction to the trail to those who want to go further on the 12-mile trail at a later time.

We'll try hiking at a moderate pace (not fast, not slow stroll) for around an hour to 1.25 hours, resting along the way, and with a stop somewhere nice to enjoy our own lunches before returning to the trailhead. The distance planned should not be very difficult for those with any hiking experience. There are the usual roots and rocks along the way, of course, but you shouldn't need any more than sport shoes with a tread, unless you're prone toward hitting or turning ankles on trail obstacles.

Let's try carpooling from the Issaquah Transit Center. Anyone close could meet us at the trailhead. A NW Forest Pass is required. Your organizer does not have one at this moment but they can be obtained for one day. If someone else does have a pass and would be willing to drive please post this in comments.

Here is WTA's info about the hike, much of which you can disregard (particularly elevation gain) because we would not be going the entire distance. https://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/middle-fork-snoqualmie-upstream#hike-full-description We'd have only about 300' gain within the distance planned and can also decide by consensus when to turn around to return.

Please join in if you can. It's beautiful out there! Time listed is arrival time for carpooling. We'll exchange numbers to find each other. If you are a good driver, can drive and would like to, please post this in comments! Passengers chipping in for gasoline/EV charging cost and mileage would be a nice gesture, as well. Event time window posted is only an estimate.

Absolutely required: adequate water for yourself, closed-toe shoes and knowledge that any liability in hiking is your own. Suggested items: Sunglasses, sunscreen, and hat, a lunch that keeps well carried in warm conditions, mosquito repellant, adhesive bandages/antiseptic, light second layer/change of clothing, small flashlight. https://www.nps.gov/articles/10essentials.htm

[For drivers: via WTA, Getting There: From Seattle, drive east on I-90 to exit 34 (Edgewick Road). Turn left (north) onto 468th Avenue and follow it to the junction with the Middle Fork Road (Forest Road 56). Turn right and continue up the Middle Fork Road (turning right at the fork) for 11.8 miles to the Middle Fork trailhead parking area on the right. Cross the river on the impressively large metal and wood footbridge.] It's about a 40-50 min. trip from the Transit Center to the trailhead.
