Are you looking for a low-pressure, welcoming space to create, work on personal hobbies, or simply connect with others — in person or online? This group is about gentle togetherness, creativity in many forms, and human connection without performance or pressure and fostering a welcoming and supportive community for individuals.
Whether you love making things, working alongside others, or just showing up to be present, you’re welcome here.
What We’re About
We’re a community-centered group for adults who enjoy spending time together in calm, supportive spaces. Some of our gatherings are creative or hobby-focused, while others are connection-first with no activity required at all.
This is not a class and not a support group — just a place to be human, creative, curious, and connected at your own pace.
No perfection. No expectations. No pressure to produce.
** **
Why Join Us
Creativity — in whatever form feels natural to you
Connection — without competition, performance, or pressure
Calm — gentle pacing and welcoming energy
Flexibility — choose the event style that fits you best
Community — a space where being present is enough
Each event listing will clearly describe what kind of space it is, so you can choose what feels supportive for you.
Looking forward to seeing you!

Adult Creative & Connections Events are moving off Meetup
Hi fellow creatives,
I'm Harshini, host and founding organizer of the Creative & Connections community. I am here to share an important update about the group.
## 🌿 What’s changing
Over the next couple of weeks, we’ll be slowly moving off the Meetup app and continuing on a platform called Luma instead.
For now until April 31, events will still remain on Meetup during the transition, so you can move over at your own pace.
## 🌱 What’s staying the same
The virtual gatherings hosted by me aren’t changing — Tuesdays and Thursdays will continue as they are — only in a different place.
## 📍 In-person events update
The in-person events in Livermore that are currently hosted by Kathryn will no longer be part of this community.
Kathryn has been a lovely host, and I believe the events will continue and be shaped with care in her next steps.
(Kathryn, you got this!)
## 🌐 Where the space now lives
Event Calendar for our space is: https://luma.com/adult-creative-connections
If you’d like to stay connected, you can follow the space there and continue joining whenever it feels right.
## 🧭 How Luma works
- Luma uses calendars instead of groups — you subscribe to a calendar
- You can join events without subscribing
- No account needed to join events
- Use your name and email → you’ll receive the join link + updates
- Emails for events hosted by us will come from: [adult-creative-connections@calendar.luma-mail.com](mailto:adult-creative-connections@calendar.luma-mail.com)
- Subscribing or managing attendance requires a minimal, password-free signup
- You can chat with people you met in events
- No downloads needed (apps are optional)
- More information about Luma at https://help.luma.com/
## 💡 Why the move
- Meetup requires a paid organizer subscription even for free events
- Luma allows people to connect with each other outside events without a paywall
- Attendee management is significantly more supportive (replacing manual tracking)
- Given the intentionality of this space, Luma felt more aligned as a door, rather than Meetup as a container
## 🙏 A note of appreciation
We have Nick, the formal organizer of this Meetup group, to thank for his care and support in keeping these spaces going.
Nick has been personally paying for the Meetup organizer subscription, which made it possible for this space to continue as it has.
(Nick — you’re awesome, and we appreciate you!)
## 🌿 Closing
This space has always been shaped by the people who come into it — your presence, your conversations, your quiet moments of just being there.
That continues, just in a different place.
You’re always welcome, whether you join regularly, occasionally, or simply drop in when it feels right.
Warmly,
— Harshini Busireddy

Midweek Open Connection Hour
·OnlineOnlineA gentle space to unwind, share presence, and connect midweek.
---
We are moving this space to Luma, You can follow & join events from the event calendar here: [Luma Link] (Details below)
---Join as you are — quiet, curious, or simply needing to be around other people for a bit.
There’s nothing to bring and nothing to prepare. No activity, no task, and no requirement to “do” anything. This is simply an open room to be together.
Conversation may happen. Silence may happen. Both are welcome.
** **** How It Works**
- We meet online.
Voice and video are essential for connection — not formal video or curated backgrounds, just you in your space.
For sensory safety:
If you have background noise, please mute yourself when you are not speaking.- We connect as we join.
Settle in, get comfortable, and arrive at your own pace. There’s no pressure to speak right away — listening counts as participation. - We connect through presence.
Once everyone has arrived, we’ll do a brief round of introductions. You’re welcome to share your name, preferred pronouns, and how you’re arriving today. From there, conversation unfolds naturally. - You choose your level of participation.
You’re free to talk, listen, or step back at any time. There’s no obligation to fill space or carry conversation. Speak when you want; rest when you don’t.
The meetup ends at 8:00 p.m.
You’re welcome to carry the feeling of connection gently back into your evening. This hour is meant to fit easily into your week — a calm, human pause to reconnect.
** **** Designed for connection**
There’s nothing to prove, share, or accomplish here. We value presence over performance and honesty over energy.** Community Agreements**
This space is gentle and welcoming. Our non-negotiables are Safety, Respect, and Inclusion.
Any misalignment with these values will result in removal from the space.
** **Bring yourself as you are. That’s already enough.
See you in the group.

Hobby Time: Virtual Hangout with Connection
·OnlineOnlineA relaxed space to unwind, share presence, and do what you love midweek.
---
We are moving this space to Luma, You can follow & join events from the event calendar here: [Luma Link] (Details below)
---Bring any quiet, hands-on hobby—coloring, crafting, journaling, knitting, organizing, digital design, scrapbooking, whatever helps you exhale.
No instructions, no showcase—just an open table where everyone does their thing while conversation flows naturally.
** How It Works**
- We meet on Zoom.
Voice is required for connection; video is optional but helps us feel together. - You start as you join.
Settle in, open your supplies, begin whenever you’re ready. Hands can stay busy while we chat—listening and creating go hand in hand here. - We talk as we create.
We’ll do a round of introductions while everyone’s getting started: share your name, what you’re working on, or what you hope to start. Conversation stays easy and flowing. - Around 7:45 p.m., we start checking in.
We go around the room to share what we worked on or simply how it felt to make time for it. You’re welcome to show what you created if you’d like—no critique, only encouragement and appreciation. - And if you’re in the zone—keep going!
The meetup ends at 8:00 p.m., but your creative flow doesn’t have to. Stay with your project as long as you wish.
This hour is meant to fit easily into your week—a small, cozy anchor to keep your hobbies alive and your connections warm.
** Designed for community, not performance**.
However your week is going, we have space for you to just be. No one is expected to “finish”, “do great” or “accomplish”. We celebrate intention, not outcome.** Community Agreements**
This space is gentle and welcoming. Our non-negotiables are Safety, Respect, and Inclusion.
Any misalignment with these values will result in removal from the space.Bring your materials and yourself. We’ll take care of the rest.

A Gentle Closing: Celebrating Connections Made
·OnlineOnlineOver the past three years, this space has held something real.
Moments of creating.
Moments of conversation.
Moments of quiet presence where nothing needed to be done, just shared. As we begin moving off Meetup and onto Luma, I wanted to create a simple space to acknowledge what has been here.
Not a formal goodbye.
Not a closing ceremony.
Just a moment to sit together and recognize:We met here and it mattered.
You’re welcome to join in whatever way feels right.
Come if you’d like to:
• reconnect with familiar faces
• share what the space meant to you
• or simply sit quietly in the presence of it one more time (virtually of course)No expectations.
No pressure to speak or stay the whole time.
No need to “wrap anything up.”And if you’re not able to make it, that’s completely okay too.
This invitation also carries something simple:
If you’ve ever been part of this space in any way—
even once—
you were part of what made it what it was and is.And that matters.
—––
We’ll continue gathering on Luma going forward, but for this moment, we’re just here to acknowledge what has been.
