At AI for Good Colorado, we’re focused on creating a community for founders and managers of nonprofits and mission-driven organizations in the AI space — as well as for those simply wanting to better understand how to leverage AI to achieve their purpose-driven goals.
For those familiar with the Rocky Mountain AI Interest Group (RMAIIG), a Boulder-based 501(c)(3) with 4,500 members, AI for Good Colorado is its newest subgroup. Welcome!

AI for Good Colorado: Boulder Launch Party

In addition to featuring two guest speakers, we're looking forward to hearing from you. With this in mind, we'll have a facilitated discussion around your ideas: How can we best shape the group so it reflects your interests in AI for Good?

Welcoming remarks and introductions from AI for Good Colorado founders Phil Nugent and Jacob Bielecki
Susan Adams will discuss how Ai for good can scale, and why we need to enlarge the room for AI builders
Karla Pascarella will discuss how AI can be used for good in the nonprofit space
Erika Lenz will lead a facilitated discussion focused on attendees’ hopes and ideas for AI for Good Colorado

Susan Adams is the founder of Women in AI Colorado, an RMAIIG board member, and an adjunct professor at the University of Denver, where she designed and taught the inaugural course on AI and Professional Practice: Design, Ethics, and Application. Her work centers on preserving cognitive sovereignty - helping people use AI without surrendering their own judgment - as the technology becomes part of how they learn and work. She will speak about how AI for good scales: Why the deepest good comes from widening who gets to build, and what she has learned about designing gatherings that build capacity across a room.
Karla Pascarella is a Boulder corporate attorney, technology advocate, and passionate volunteer for the Colorado chapter of WRISE (Women of Renewable Industries & Sustainable Energy) and Green Pro Bono. As an RMAI/RMAIIG board member, Karla will share her expertise and ideas on how AI can benefit nonprofit and resource-constrained organizations.
Erika Lenz brings 15 years of experience in agile coaching, facilitation, and organizational change — from large-scale planning events to executive engagements — to the question of how humans and AI actually work together. As founder of Kinetic Change and various AI literacy initiatives, she teaches knowledge workers to be conductors of AI rather than passengers. She serves on the board of Agile Denver, where she leads the Human-Centric AI Special Interest Group.

RMAI is the 501(c)(3) parent organization of RMAIIG and its subgroups, including AI for Good Colorado.
AI for Good Colorado is currently alternating our meetings between Boulder and Denver. Look for information soon about our August meeting in Denver.
