Fleet 85 @AYC Governor's Cup Regatta

The Arizona Yacht Club puts on their annual Governor's Cup Regatta!

This is a one-day race. Traditionally it has been a pursuit race where boats are given a handicap and start at staggered times -- in theory the boats should finish the race at about the same time! Lately, the AYC has been experimenting with different race formats. Anyway, it is a fun day with not just catamarans but a host of other kinds of sailboats. There may be 50-70 boats on the water, quite a sight to see!

Some sailors will come early and sail Friday as well or stay an extra day and sail Sunday. See you there!
