Bearing off against Contact

Details

When you are bringing your last few checkers home; play safe to avoid losing and put yourself in the best position to win a gammon.

  • Don't put checkers on the low points in your inner board. Aim for the 6-5-4 points to increase flexibility.
  • If you have to break your inner board, break from the rear.
  • Clear from the rear.
  • Make sure doubles don't break your board.
  • If your opponent has a crashed board go for the gammon.
