When you are bringing your last few checkers home; play safe to avoid losing and put yourself in the best position to win a gammon.
- Don't put checkers on the low points in your inner board. Aim for the 6-5-4 points to increase flexibility.
- If you have to break your inner board, break from the rear.
- Clear from the rear.
- Make sure doubles don't break your board.
- If your opponent has a crashed board go for the gammon.
