This is a group for Australians and English speaking expats living in Tokyo, learning Japanese and wanting to socialize with local Japanese people.
このグループは、東京に住んでいて、日本語を勉強しているオーストラリア人や英語話者で、地元の日本人と交わりたい、日本語を話したい人のグループです。(*日本人の方は、注意書きをご覧ください。)
We are an international couple, Australian husband and Japanese wife, trying to create an international place to be outside work/school or home.
オーストラリア人と日本人の国際結婚夫婦が、仕事、学校、家庭以外のインターナショナルな第三の居場所をクリエイトしています。
We rent a small cafe in order to regularly have a language exchange with local Japanese people, to practice speaking Japanese.
日本語を練習するために、小さなカフェを借りて、地元の日本人とランゲージエクスチェンジをしています。
We speak in English for one hour with Japanese people learning English, and another hour in Japanese.
英語で1時間話した後、日本語で1時間話します。

We are renting a cafe in Otaku, Tokyo, just near where we live to have a language exchange cafe to practice speaking Japanese.
We usually have it on Saturdays.
Craig is from Dorrigo, NSW, and I (Masako) am from Tokyo.
We lived in Sydney, but moved to Japan 12 years ago.
Craig just passed N4 in JLPT(Japanese Language Proficiency Test) and needs to practice speaking!!
There are usually participants of different levels and nationalities.
If your Japanese is not conversational level yet, a volunteer Japanese teacher will give you a small lesson on the spot, as long as you let us know beforehand.
