Creativity Workshop: Breaking through creative blocks with Authentic Relating

Details
Are you an artist wanting to work through creative blocks? Are you wanting to make creativity a larger part of your life? Would you describe yourself as someone who ‘doesn’t have a creative bone in your body’? Are you seeking new friends and community? If so, please join us for our creativity workshop!

WHEN?
Saturday - August 2 - 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m

WHERE? Cheesman Park (east of large pavilion)

Breaking through creative blocks with AR
Creating art is the practice of connecting with the deepest source of universal and personal truth, and expressing this truth in whatever way is calling us.
Authentic Relating is the practice of being with what is, together. We strive to connect to our inner truth and reveal it to others, while also holding space for other's truth in the process.
Sound similar? It’s because they are connected (like most things, it turns out)! The process of creating art is deeply tied to the skills we practice at Authentic Relating.
Creativity is for everyone. In this day-and-age of conflict and divisiveness, we need more than ever to feel connected with individuals in our community, but before we can do that we must connect with ourselves. This is the magic of both creating art and authentic relating.
What to expect?
This is a workshop-style event with a supportive structure used to create a group and personal context around removing creative blocks.
We will use prompts, games, sentence stems, activities and group discussions to get you in touch with your awareness, curiosity, truth, and empathy.
The result?
— The potential to begin shifting lifelong patterns and blocks
— Deeper, more meaningful and intimate connections with self and others
— Expanded relational awareness
All instructions and prompts will be provided; no experience necessary. This workshop is perfect for those new to creativity and AR, in addition to those that are well-seasoned.
