Plant Identification and Foraging Walk

Details
Embark on a soulful journey with us as we dive into the healing embrace of nature through our Plant Identification and Foraging Walk, inspired by the wisdom of *Braiding Sweetgrass*! This sacred outdoor experience invites us to connect not only with the plants around us but also with ourselves and the greater web of life. As we wander through the diverse landscape of our local nature preserve, we will:
- Discover the spiritual significance of various native plants and their traditional uses
- Reflect on themes from Braiding Sweetgrass and how they illuminate our relationship with nature
- Practice mindfulness while learning safe foraging techniques and identifying medicinal and edible plants
This walk is a sacred space for all—whether you’re a seasoned forager or taking your first steps into the world of wild plants. Join us for a day of connection, discovery, and gratitude as we honor the gifts of the earth.
What to Bring:
- Comfortable walking shoes for grounding in nature
- A journal for capturing your thoughts, reflections, or sketches
- A water bottle and nourishing snacks
- Any plant identification tools or apps that resonate with you
- Umbrella/rain poncho
Let’s open our hearts and immerse ourselves in the beauty of the natural world. Together, we will celebrate the interconnectedness of all living things and find inspiration in both our book and the vibrant life surrounding us. RSVP to secure your spot in this spiritual gathering, invite a friend and let’s journey together into the heart of nature!
This walk will be led by local plant expert, Robert Silas. Follow him on instagram @outdooreducation and facebook @ OutDoor Re-education.
