About our hosts:

Austin Loveless carries multiple AWS Certifications and currently works as DevOps/FullStack Engineer at Stuzo. He has worked on projects of all sizes from startups of 3 people to Fortune 500 companies of 5000 people. He is the host of AWS Meetup Group and is working towards teaching more people from any background about cloud technologies.

Kevin Tinn now resides in Denver and help organize the Meetup. With over two decades in the IT industry, he has worked with companies of all scale.  From installing network cabling in small dental offices to developing massively parallel data streaming platforms for the Fortune 500, Kevin has provided a full spectrum of IT Solutions. Kevin has worked as a Senior Cloud Application Architect (And more recently Team Lead) since April 2021. He previously worked at World Wide Technology as a Practice Lead in the Multicloud Application Architecture team. In this role, Kevin provided cloud consulting services, with a focus on AWS and Azure. Prior to joining the WWT Multicloud team, he led agile software development teams in WWT’s Asynchrony Labs, utilizing a variety of languages and technologies such as C#, Scala, JavaScript, Kafka, SQL, Neo4j, etc.

Veeam Backup for AWS: Hands-on Workshop

Please join us for the Veeam Backup for AWS Hands-on Workshop, led by Jon Myer. This workshop is designed to guide AWS practitioners through the process of installing, setting up, and configuring the backup solution to protect their AWS environments. Participants will learn how to create backup policies, perform backups and restores, and recover deleted or changed items within their AWS environments. The workshop is designed to be interactive and hands-on, allowing participants to gain practical experience with the Veeam Backup for AWS solution, as well as data management principals that can be used across many aspects AWS operations. By the end of the workshop, participants will have a solid understanding of how to use Veeam Backup for AWS to protect their AWS workloads and ensure business continuity.

The workshop will start at 2:30 PM and last about 90 minutes. Afterwards we'll do a round of AWS trivia to get everyone chatting, and then head out into downtown Denver for a social hour so we can get to know each other better, talk shop, and compare notes.

To find us, park near union station (either in garage parking or street parking). Head up to the fifth floor of 1515 Wynkoop using the elevators at the end of the 1st floor lobby. There will be a set of elevators on the right prior to this elevator bank. Do not use these, as they are for the parking garage. Once on the 5th floor, head straight through the lobby to the classrooms located past the restrooms.

Optimizing EC2 Compute By Being Flexible

In this session, our speakers will discuss the different ways that you can optimize your costs and increase flexibility with EC2 services. Over the course of this 90 minute session, we will overview AWS Graviton instances, EC2 Spot, AWS auto-scaling group capabilities and other topics that could be useful if your team is interested in optimizing your current EC2 usage. We will have a 45 minute presentation followed by a Q&A with our speakers, and a happy hour!

Please welcome Sid Ambatipudi (EC2 Flexible Compute Specialist) and Ananth Raghavendra (Senior EC2 Flexible Compute Solution Architect). They love talking shop, so this is a great opportunity to talk to the experts about your toughest projects, and get some great tips and tricks.
