Happy Spring 2023 everyone! Join me and 5 others to backpack the Lost Coast Trail.
Background: Lost Coast Trail (25 miles at mostly sea level)
Group Size: 6

The Plan
- Add yourself to the waitlist. I'll send out a questionnaire and based on that will make the final list.
- Fill out a form with full breakdown of your gear. It will be very detailed and comprehensive so if you've never done this before you'll need to carve out some spare time. I will send out the form after we have the list of attendees.
- Join a group chat to figure out what items we can share eg bear canister, stove, driving situation etc
- Sign a waiver release
- Go on on a shakedown hike sometime in the upcoming weekends. Attendance will be mandatory unless I've hiked with you before.
Costs
- Shuttle to Mattole Beach will be around $95 per person
- Permit fee $115 / 6 = $20 per person
- Driving from Bay Area to Shelter Cove is up to you. Anyone willing to carpool may do so and share gas money etc
- AirBnB/Hotel costs in Shelter Cove
This is a non-profit event. I don't make any money out of this so anyone who drops off will likely forfeit their fees unless there is a replacement.
Weather
Lost Coast has been battered by major storms this winter. We have a month to go so the weather will improve but assume there is chance of some rain on this hike. Also parts of the trail will be rough with storm debris. Adventure time!

NOTE
This is NOT a professional guided trip. I have done some research but never hiked the Lost Coast before. We'll prepare for the hike as a group but every attendee must be self sufficient with regards to preparation and training.
