About us

This is a group for anyone in the Bay Area actively looking for backpacking buddies. While we may have training hikes/get-togethers this group is mostly about backpacking. Any destination is game as long as the route does not require technical mountaineering skills.

For membership we require prior wilderness camping experience (beginners cannot be accepted at this time unfortunately). Please make sure your profile has a proper photo and at least a first name.

Destinations will mostly be within driving distance of San Francisco ... think eastern Sierra, Trinity Alps, Shasta, Sequoia, Kings Canyon, Yosemite, Lassen NP, few locations along the coast etc.

We keep our group sizes small (strictly 12 or less) and respect Leave No Trace principles (https://lnt.org/learn/7-principles)
