Anyone can launch a podcast – but with two million other shows competing for listeners, you will need an edge to turn an idea into a chart-topper.

Renowned broadcaster Edie Lush is here to help.
We live in a golden age of audio. Unlike television, film, and radio, the podcast medium gives every aspiring storyteller a way to cut through the noise and reach an ever-expanding global audience.

Whether your taste leans towards the pioneering journalism of This American Life, the unmissable cultural conversations of The High Low, or the startling and innovative sonic landscapes of Love and Radio, podcasting is a playground where creators can communicate directly with listeners, sharing ideas and stories without the eye-watering costs, gatekeepers, or technical skill bar that restrict access to traditional broadcast media.

But standing out in the marketplace is not easy. As every podcaster knows, your competitors included some of the best funded and most experienced broadcasters and commentators of our time.

So how do you go about turning your dream into a reality?

Hosted by veteran broadcast journalist and renowned podcaster Edie Lush, this three-part livestream course will guide you through the fundamentals of devising, producing and launching a podcast series, with insider advice to save you months of research and ensure you don’t make mistakes that could hold back the potential of your show. We’ll help you hone your editorial, journalistic, and storytelling skills to gain a competitive edge and reach heights of excellence. And no less critically, we’ll help you develop a sponsorship model and get noticed – growing your audience and your finances to ensure your series is around for the long-haul.

Don’t miss this opportunity to receive expert guidance from two of veterans of broadcasting and podcasting.

Thursday 27th Jan – Session 1: The Format. What story are you trying to tell? Who are your team? Should you use scripts? How often should the podcast go out? This session will look in-depth at the creative process of defining and refining the core concepts of your show.

Thursday 3rd Feb – Session 2: The Launch. Show I use show notes and transcripts? What’s the social media strategy? Should I partner with other shows? This session focuses on how to find your audience.

Thursday 10th Feb – Session 3: The Tech. What’s the best microphone to use? What editing software should I use? How do I interweave music and silence do create the right atmosphere? What platforms should I target?

Drawing on ten years of original research, join psychologist Tessa West for a guide to understanding and dealing with a universal problem: difficult colleagues.
Have you ever watched a colleague schmooze management while showing a Machiavellian side to the lower ranks? Has a co-worker consistently interrupted you or claimed your ideas as their own? Is your manager agonisingly overbearing?

Despite causing us daily stress at work, these characters don’t technically break any rules and so we’re expected to just put up with them. Until now.

Associate Professor of Psychology Tessa West has already helped thousands of people, from entry-level workers to leading executives, resolve their most pressing workplace issues.

In this livestream event, West will draw on a decade of original research to profile classic workplace archetypes, including: The Gaslighter, The Bulldozer, The Credit-Stealer, The Neglecter, and The Micromanager.

These are characters West knows well – not only from the struggles of her clients, but also from personal experience. As a rising leader in the world of academia, who has often been the only woman and youngest person in the room, she has a unique perspective on the jerks we face at work.

This is a talk for everyone who has cried in the office bathroom or bitten their tongue in a meeting: a provocative, revealing, and practical guide to getting difficult colleagues off your back, restoring your sanity, and achieving emotional wellbeing at work.
