- Los Altos First Friday Music with Fourteen Bands!Enchanté Boutique Hotel, Los Altos, CA
Tonight and on the first Friday evening of each month, Los Altos hosts "First Friday" with live bands playing all over the downtown area of First and Main Streets. Come join the fun. Music, food, drinks, people-watching - what's not to like??
Our own Rob Van Wandelen's "House Band" performs outside tonight at the Hotel Enchanté, and we usually make that location our HQ for the evening. There are many other bands playing up and down nearby streets!
Please note that we have a long-time understanding with the hotel for New Beginnings not to take more then twelve seats, so they'll have room for their hotel guests and other visitors. Please help us monitor and manage this. If we approach twelve, please visit some of the other many nearby "First Friday" venues.
If the weather is bad, we may move our festivities to the nearby State of Mind Public House (101 Plaza North in Los Altos - web site). Check back here for news

- 🔆🎶 San Mateo Thursday Music in the Park (most Thursdays 6/20 through 8/8)San Mateo Central Park, San Mateo, CA
It's back! A full season (seven weeks) of San Mateo Central Park Summer Music, every Thursday evening from June 20 through August 8, 2023 (except for July 4). There's live music and dancing from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Food and beverages are available for purchase - or bring wine, snacks or something else to share! Please review the event web site at: www.cityofsanmateo.org/1367/Central-Park-Music-Series
Use the "comments" area of this page to coordinate plans if you like! It's very helpful to have people arrive early with blankets to help us claim and hold a spot for everyone. What's worked best in the past is a location in the middle of the left half of the lawn (as you face the stage), more or less lined up with the flagpole. That way the sun is to our backs, and we're far enough back that we can still talk during the music - when we're not dancing! 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐥𝐲 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬!
Day-of-event text messages can go to Davis at 650.704.1905
If you're one of the first to arrive, please feel free to post your text/cell number so others can find you.
Here's the tentative band lineup for each week of this season:
- Thursday, June 20
- Thursday, June 27
- Thursday, July 4 New Beginnings July 4 in Foster City
- Thursday, July 11
- Thursday, July 18
- Thursday, July 25
- Thursday, August 1
- Thursday, August 8
Learn more at: www.cityofsanmateo.org/1367/Central-Park-Music-Series
FYI... for about three more Thursdays after the San Mateo music ends, the super-fun Crow's Nest Summer Beach Parties will continue in Santa Cruz (exact dates to be announced). Save the dates and count on at least one New Beginnings event there! More info (The Beach Parties also start sooner than San Mateo Music does. We'll post the May and June dates as soon as we have them)
