What we’re about
Hi all,
It's with tremendous sadness that I'm announcing that I have to put the group on indefinite pause starting on 8/7/25. The group fell into my lap in April 2015 (long story to that) and I've been running it since then, for over 10 years. But I have to step back to take care of myself and my family. I hope to restart the group in the future, so for right now, I'm putting it on indefinite pause. I hope you all will continue to hang out together. The friendships you guys created are invaluable. If you have any questions, you can message me here or follow the latest at the nonprofit I run, Better Because Collective. You can also join the email list for simple, sweet, and short emails full of anxiety combating tips.
With care and compassion,
Rebecca Massie

About us: OCD, anxiety, and all the twists and turns of the human experience can be a lot, but here, you don’t have to filter yourself. I started this group because I know firsthand how isolating it can feel when no one around you truly understands, but connection changes everything. This group is an easygoing, no-pressure space where we talk, laugh, vent, or just hang out—whatever feels right in the moment. There’s no structure and no judgment, just people who want to build a space where we can be real with each other. However you’re feeling, whatever’s on your mind, you belong here.
Meeting location discontinued after 8/7/25
Accessibility info: There is street parking on the same block as the meetup and a free-of-charge parking lot a block away. The meeting space is wheelchair and mobility aid accessible. There are wheelchair and mobility aid accessible bathrooms at Starbucks and Peet’s, which are both a block away. The meeting space is scent-free. Please refrain from wearing anything scented, including scented shampoo, lotion, dry-cleaned clothes, etc. This ensures that the group is safe for people with chemical sensitivities.
COVID safety info: The space is indoors with a ton of ventilation. Masking is optional at this time.
Warmth and comfort: Remember to wear warm clothes and bring a throw blanket since I'll have the garage door open for ventilation/COVID safety.
Sign up for our newsletter, where we'll share resources and announce upcoming events.
Feel free to email me at [rebecca@betterbecausecollective.org](mailto:rebecca@betterbecausecollective.org) if you have any questions about the group. My inbox is always open.
