This is special four weeks event series that will improve your lower extremities strength, conditioning and alignment control. You are welcome and encouraged to attend one or all dates each week Beginners are welcome and can do as much of the workout as they feel comfortable. NOTE: You may want to bring a towel or yoga mat for some of the strength exercises and stretching routines.
We meet at 5:55 AM and do introductions and start promptly at 6:00 AM.
Schedule:
November 11, 2016: brief discussion about aches, pain and injuries closely associated with running activities. Follow by on field assessment of your running mechanics by a Doctor of Physical Therapy and Orthopedic Certified Specialist. Information from this assessment will help you be proactive in taking the necessary steps for the purpose of injury prevention.
November 18, 2016: 30 minutes training session to help you improve your lower extremities strength, conditioning and alignment control. The exercises we will be going over have been proven to be effective in the prevention of overused injuries.
December 2, 2016: a second 30 minutes training session with more advance and running specific exercises. These exercises will help you correct your mechanical faults identified on November 11, 2016.
December 9, 2016: an on field re-assessment to see if you have been successful in making corrections to your mechanical faults.
About Luc Nguyen:
Luc is a physical therapist and founder of Specialized PT Solutions. Luc earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from San Jose State University in 2003 and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Chapman University in 2006. Following completion of his schooling he came home to San Jose to be closer to family and begin his career. During this time, his knowledge and leadership allowed him to serve as clinic director and help thousands of people with various orthopedic conditions. His experience with injuries and his personal recovery from two separate anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstructive surgeries give him valuable insight to the recovery process, both emotionally and physically.
PARKING: School parking lot requires a permit. There is plenty of street parking on Benton St. Must be off school ground by 7:30 AM during school days and events.
WATER FOUNTAIN & RESTROOMS: There is a water fountain at the entrance of the track. Restroom may not be open depending on the School schedule. Come prepared.
