BFA 16 & 17 Beginner and/or Bring A Friend on the Family/Rec Arvada Bike Loop 09-30-23
This ride is new this year and there will be both Rec and Family routes. We will leave from Olde Town Arvada Square at 9am and head west to catch the Arvada Bike Loop at Wolff Park. We’ll follow this well marked trail for an 8 mile rec ride or a 4 mile family ride. All riders are required to wear a helmet, follow bike safety and traffic laws, and sign a waiver. Our ride leaders will give a briefing 5 minutes before the ride begins and outline the route and other specifics for the day. So try to arrive at least 20 minutes before the ride begins to give yourself enough time to get ready.
We will follow Jefferson County Covid protocols.
What to bring:
• Your bike (in good working condition)
• Water (preferably a water bottle or camelback)
• Your helmet
• Sunscreen
• Sunglasses (recommended to keep bugs and sunlight out of your eyes)

This was a new ride last year. It will leave from Gold Strike Park, 5500 W 56th Ave at 10am and head east on Clear Creek Trail to the Gravel Lakes on the South Platte River and return via the same route. This ride now has a shorter route. It leaves at 10am from the Gold Strike Park, lowest elevation point in central Arvada to the highest elevation point in central Arvada. Dress for the weather and then go on a guided 5 mile bike ride on trails and bike friendly streets. We leave from Olde Town Square at 1pm. After the ride head over to Grandview Ave to the Bluegrass for FREE hot chocolate (or coffee) on the back patio area. This 14 mile bike ride will visit three historic graveyards in Arvada: Belgin, Ralston and Arvada. We leave at 10am from Majestic View Park on W 72nd Ave just west of Carr. At each stop the history of the graveyard will be presented, a photo taken and an historic card provided. The ride is on trails and bike friendly streets.
