What we’re about
This group is for those who have chosen a vegan, plant-based diet, or those who are considering doing so. It is for support and socializing, as well as for learning and sharing information on healthy eating, animal compassion, and helping the environment through our food choices. We do potlucks, have discussions and educational sessions, share recipes, and support each other on our journeys. Let's celebrate our healthy, compassionate life style and be respectful of our differences.
Our companion Facebook page is facebook.com/bhamvegans.

- Vegan Dinner at Charm ThaiCharm Thai, Hoover, AL
Charm Thai is an authentic Thai and Japanese restaurant situated in a shopping center on Lorna Road.
We have dined there and found that a lot of dishes can be made vegan. Crispy rolls make an excellent appetizer. You can also order miso soup and Tom Kha as vegan soups. For a main entrée, you can order noodle dishes and curries vegan with vegetables and tofu. You can also vegan sushi. There are so many wonderful vegan choices!
As always, everyone is invited, but please follow the rules of the group and only order vegan options. We look forward to seeing you guys there! Please sign up on our Facebook page or the Meetup app to let us know that you will be attending.

Birmingham Vegans started over a decade ago as a group to connect and grow the vegan community and build the vegan movement here and beyond. We have 3,800 Facebook followers and 1,700 Meetup members. Birmingham is a special city with so much energy for progress, and it has been exciting to see veganism grow alongside all the amazing things happening here.
Birmingham Vegans has hosted hundreds of gatherings highlighting vegan entrepreneurs, leaders, educators, and creators. We’ve put on festivals (in person and online), held regular meetups at restaurants, invited the public into our homes for potlucks, organized hiking and kayaking adventures, held picnics, conducted canned food drives, and featured chef demonstrations, vegan-themed films, and talks from authors.
Message us on social media if you are interested in volunteer, vendor, or sponsorship opportunities with the Birmingham Vegan Fest.
Everyone is invited to attend—vegan, veg-curious, omnivore, or whatever—so bring your friends who will be amazed at how delicious vegan food can be! Veganism is booming in Birmingham, so come on out and see on April 7th!
Please sign up on Facebook and/ or on the Meetup app to let us and our vendors know that you will be there!
