💥 Meeting Description:
Hey Bolder Woman,
I really started to notice it last summer.
My mom’s decline, that is.
It was while our family was together for our annual 4th of July gathering at the cabin.
😕 While there had been several concerning signs throughout the week, there’s one that really caught my attention.
My brother was getting ready to leave and, meanwhile, I was helping my mom clean out the fridge. She pulled out a tupperware container and said, “I have no idea what’s in here!”
It turned out it was leftover baked beans. Cool. She put it back in the fridge.
We then went outside to say goodbye to my brother as he was driving away. We were out there for maybe 10 minutes.
When we came back inside, we resumed cleaning out the fridge. And the first thing my mom did was pull out that same container of beans while saying, “I have no idea what’s in here!”
Yikes 😬
Even when she opened it, no light bulbs went off that we'd had this exact conversation just minutes earlier.
Since then, there have been many more moments that have raised concerns about her memory and cognition. We're currently working with her doctors to better understand what's going on.
The strange thing is that she still manages her daily life remarkably well. She lives independently, takes care of herself, and, in many ways, seems just like the mom I've always known.
And yet, it's clear that something is changing.
👉 We're in that in-between stage that so many women in mid-life find themselves navigating — where a parent doesn't yet need a caregiver or assisted living, but you know in your gut that you may be heading in that direction.
Watching my mom's journey has made me really start thinking about brain health - not just for her, but for myself as well.
😱 I mean, it’s hard to watch what’s going on and not be gripped by the unsettling thought, “Is that where I’m eventually headed?!”
That's why I'm so excited about our next Bolder Women gathering…
⭐ Build a Better Brain: Protecting Your Mind for Midlife and Beyond
Our very own Nikki Armbrust will be helping us separate fear from fact as we explore what happens in the aging brain…what we can do to protect it…and how to create a healthier future for ourselves and the people we love.
In this interactive presentation, you'll discover:
✅ Why the single most powerful thing you can do for your brain health isn't found in a supplement bottle
✅ The surprising role that connection and community play in protecting your brain as you age
✅ What happens in the aging brain—what's normal, what isn't, and when it's time to pay attention
✅ Why prioritizing your own brain health isn't selfish—it's essential
✅ Simple, practical strategies you can start using
immediately to support both yourself and the people you love
Most importantly, you'll leave with one bold question to consider:
🔥 What do you want the next thirty years of your brain to look like—and what are you willing to do about it now?
If you're ready to invest in the future of your own brain while learning how to better support loved ones facing cognitive changes, come join us for this important conversation.
I can’t wait to see you there!
With Passion and Purpose,
Terra
