What we’re about
Welcome Boston Art lovers!
Learn about Art History with an expert from the National Gallery London, in regular online and in-person talks at he Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
This is intended for anyone without any previous knowledge of Art History wishing to enhance their understanding and enjoyment of art.
I am a London based Art Historian ( I have been a guide at London's National Gallery for 35 years) visiting Boston in April . Some years ago I taught at the Museum of Fine Arts and always wanted to come back! As official lectures and courses at the MFA are currently discontinued due to the pandemic, I'd like to fill the gap for all of you interested in art with some art history talks relevant to you as Americans and Bostonians. In the run up to my April visit these will be online and prerecorded
( 5 hrs time zones difference between London and Boston means it will be hard to find a good time to meet "live"). Once I'm in Boston, these talks will be streamed live on zoom at 6pm (with recordings available to those unable to attend at 6) and we will also schedule at least one face to face session at MFA to actually meet.
Programme:
For the prerecorded talks I will schedule talks about American Art and closer look at some of the great masterpieces on your doorstep, at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
For the live zoom talks in April I will introduce various sections of MFA's collection, eg Renaissance Art, Dutch Golden Age, British Paintings, The Impressionists and the Post Impressionists.
Join me to find out more about your fabulous art heritage and learn how to look at paintings with greater understanding and enjoyment.
See you in Boston!
and a happy 2022
