Our Communities
Boston Indies
Boston Indies is a community of independent game developers in Massachusetts supporting hobbyists, professionals, artists, academics, and anyone else interested in the craft of game creation.
Our goals are to:
• Foster a sense of community among Boston’s independent game creators.
• Encourage creating games independent of large budgets and major corporations.
• Serve as a brain trust among local independent developers and create a positive environment for learning and getting critical feedback
We are completely agnostic with respect to technology, development platform, game type, and scope of game development. As long as you show up with an open mind, helpful attitude, and you are committed to making your own games, on your own terms, you are welcome to join us.

Boston Indies: Why Discovery Is Hard and How to Break Through the Noise!
Microsoft New England Research and Development Center, 1 Memorial Dr, Cambridge, MA, USJoin us for Ichiro's talk on games discoverability!
The discovery ecosystem is chaotic, misunderstood, and unforgiving. Most games sink without a trace; not because they're bad, but because developers are still using a 2010s playbook on how platforms and media actually work. Ichiro Lambe is a 30 year industry veteran who founded one of the longest-running indie studios, Dejobaan Games, and was recruited by Valve to help improve discovery on Steam. He'll deconstruct the sales funnel, reframe the roles of media and platforms, and provide a concrete, iterative framework for making your game seen, understood, and desired. You will leave knowing how to test your messaging, align with the real goals of games media, and engineer every part of your store page—from its name to its trailer—to command attention in a marketplace of 130,000+ games.
After the talk, we'll roll over to Flat Top Johnny's for pinball and drinks and hot dogs.
Doors: 6pm
