What we’re about
If you don't believe in supernatural entities or powers, if you are concerned about religious intolerance or religiously motivated violence, if you rely on human reasoning and science to guide your decisions and behavior, if you have a naturalistic view of the world, or you just don't believe in God or gods, you are not alone. The Boulder Atheists group provides presentations, meetings, and serves as a social community for atheists, agnostics, rationalists, secular humanists, Brights, and free thinkers in and around Boulder, Longmont, Lafayette, Broomfield, and surrounding communities in Northern Colorado.
Boulder Atheists wish to promote the understanding and acceptance of atheism with public education, good deeds, public activities and affiliations with other local and national secular groups. We strive to be inclusive to ALL and promote gender equality, LGBTQ equality and racial justice.
BA is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) Nonprofit Corporation and relies on membership dues to support the infrastructure required for these events. Please consider becoming a paid member to BA after attending 3 events. Paid annual membership starts at only $35. You can join at boulderatheists.org.

Volunteer Together at Community Food Share!
Community Food Share - Admin Office, 650 S Taylor Ave Suite C, Louisville, CO, USPlease come and join us to participate in this great community service event! Every hour donated by a volunteer helps provide 60 meals to people in our community who have food insecurity. We need more help with this - please come if you can!

Please sign up soon! Community Food Share likes to have the list 3 days before the event so they can plan for us. Let's fill the event (10 slots) with folks who are making the commitment to attend in order to show that atheists can be counted on for community service.

Dr. Martin Bickman Presents: Wrestling with the "God, Nature, & Humans" Triangle
Boulder Public Library - Main Library, 1001 Arapahoe Ave, Boulder, CO, USCU Boulder English professor, Dr. Martin Bickman, presents "How Emerson, Thoreau, Melville, Whitman & Dickinson Wrestled with the God, Nature, & Humans Triangle".
In the 19th century, a major epistemological and metaphysical shift in the three-cornered relationship of human-nature-god took place, aimed at the integration of all three. Emerson removed himself from the Unitarian church to see 'Christ' as a metaphor for how God incarnates him/herself in the human through direct experience. I will also examine Thoreau, Melville, Whitman and Dickinson following the same lines of feeling and thought.
