Boulder Atheists member Professor Mike Grant will focus on the live ecology and biology of showy flowering plants in the alpine and sub-alpine regions of Rocky Mountain National Park. There will be a very modest amount of easy walking with the opportunity for the more vigorous to do more without Mike. The max number of signups is 9. From Longmont, Mike can give a ride to 4 and Konrad can transport 5; or drive on your own. There is a 1 day vehicle pass required for $30 per car. Carpool with Mike or Konrad who have lifetime senior park passes and avoid driving and the fee! Carpool logistics will be handled via Meetup messaging prior to event. Meet time is 2:15 p.m. Friday July 11th at the visitor center just before entering RMNP via the Fall River entrance (1.25 hour drive from Longmont). No hiking boots, soft-soled shoes only; dress very warmly with rain gear, bring water & sun screen. You may want to bring binoculars.
