Gesture draw (or simply enjoy) live bellydancers in action 4:30 - 5:00 pm, featuring the fabulous bellydancing troupe, Tribal Misfits!

I love sketching live models - this will be a fun challenge! The BAA will have some folding chairs set outside for artists. Bring your own sketchpad & sketching materials for this half-hour of lovely dancers, dressed in flowing, colorful garments. And then enjoy a grilled hotdog (from Costco!) before heading inside & checking out all the art & art activities happening at our July 4th First Friday event!

The Tribal Misfits are a Fusion Belly Dance Troupe based in Boulder drawing inspiration from a wide range of dance styles including ATS, Hip Hop, Modern, Thai, Turkish, Egyptian, and beyond. The troupe includes dancers of all levels and ages, welcoming anyone and everyone to give this expressive dance a try. Costumes are inspired by a colorful blend of styles, created by the dancers, and choreographer Ashanti Christel. The Misfits have performed at festivals, conferences, and haflas around the Boulder/Denver Metro Area for over a decade, including at the Boulder Creek Festival, Mercury Cafe, Festival of Faerie and Medieval Festival.
