TYPE: Walk | PACE: Gentle/Conversational | TERRAIN: Dirt/Gravel Trails | DISTANCE: 3.3 miles |

Walk Description: This Saturday morning sunrise/moonset hike is a spectacular way to greet the weekend and watch the first full moon of 2026 go down behind the Flatirons. We'll hike the 3.3-mile loop around Davidson Mesa just as the sun is coming up and the full January "Wolf Moon" is setting.

Schedule and Planning: We will meet at 6:30 am in the parking lot at Davidson Mesa. The hike will take about an hour, but we'll stop to take in the views along the way. Sunrise is at 7:06 am and moonset is at 7:58 am. Bring a hot drink and wear plenty of warm layers!

Walking Movement Leader: Darcy Kitching started volunteering with the Boulder Ramblers in 2015. She is the author of "The Best Urban Hikes: Boulder." You can reach Darcy at (720) 805-8293 or besturbanhikesboulder@gmail.com.

Trip Notes:
~ We will begin walking at 6:35, so please arrive on time.
~ Be sure to bring plenty of water, snacks, sun protection and wear appropriate gear/clothing for the season. Be sure to bring shoe traction and/or walking poles for stability if it is snowy or icy. (As of December 29, no snow is predicted, so it should be dry.)
~ No dogs, please.

Release of liability: By signing up for this walk, you acknowledge that you are responsible for your own safety and well-being throughout the event. This is a volunteer-led experience. Volunteers are not liable for any injury or illness that may happen during the event or that results from participating in this event. Please take good care to only sign up for walks or hikes that are within your skill level and comfort. As always, have fun and be safe!
