What we're about
We're a group of people living in the Bay Area who are passionate about everything related to Brazilian culture. This group started in 2006, and we've grown to over 2700 members! Our group is quite diverse, and we have meetings in San Francisco, the East Bay, the South Bay and San Jose.
We welcome new members and are excited to meet new people, make new connections, and sharing common interests. We're LGBTQIA friendly, and encourage all members to come as they are, always respecting each and every member of our community.
We meet periodically to speak and improve our Portuguese (or for our native Portuguese-speaking friends, to improve their English), to dance to Brazilian music like samba, MPB (Popular Brazilian Music), and forró, and to have a good time with good people.
It's 2022 and we just starting to organize in-person events again. We ask you if you feel sick that you stay at home so others can feel safe.
If you would like to suggest a meetup event or help organize one, please reach out to our organizers. We're open to Brazilian music, culture, book clubs, bate-papo, soccer matches and more.

Hey everyone,
Let's meet to have dinner and enjoy Bossa Nova crooner Masha Campagne and her project Voz Da Lapa. This project celebrates passion and excitement of Brazilian Samba & Bossa, honoring creativity & artistic modernization of Tom Jobim, Gilberto Gil, and other Brazilian legends.
There is no cover charge, but ordering food is expected. There's no bar seating, only dinner seating. I made a reservation for 6 people, if there are more people we’ll have 2 tables side by side.
Please confirm only if you’re really interested as we have a reservation. I’ll confirm individually a few days before the event through the Meetup app.
This event welcomes both English and Portuguese speaker of all levels.

Let’s meet for drinks and bar bites at Cavaña, a Latin restaurant at the rooftop of Luma Hotel.
DJ Fausto Sousa (Radio valencia) will be spinning Brazilian beats.
We’re meeting at the bar area. Look for yellow and green ballons.
This event is open to all levels of Portuguese speakers.
Cavaña’s menu features Latin American drinks and food, like caipirinha, pastel de carne and bolinho de bacalhau.
