Ready to push past your standard weekend routine and immerse yourself in a massive outdoor gallery? Join Breaking Boundaries as we hit the 43rd Annual Palo Alto Festival of the Arts!
Weโll stroll through 250+ fine art booths, watch live Italian street painting (chalk art), and enjoy sidewalk piano virtuosos. This event is a great way to soak up the summer culture at a pace that works for everyone.
๐ Schedule
10:00 AM: Meet at the Caltrain Plaza for introductions and check-in.
10:30 AM: Explore the fine arts booths and Italian Street Painting Expo on Tasso St.
12:30 PM: Lunch at the food vendor area and live music.
2:00 PM: Visit the Ramona Beats & Brews zone for DJ sets and socializing.
3:00 PM: Official Meetup ends, but feel free to keep exploring the 9-block festival until it closes at 6:00 PM!
๐ We'll break into smaller groups after checking in to make browsing booths and navigating the crowds easier.
โฟ๏ธ Accessibility
- Terrain: The festival covers 9 blocks of University Ave, which is flat, smooth asphalt with level transitions from the Caltrain Plaza.
- Rest: Numerous benches and shady tree cutouts are available along the route for frequent breaks.
- Restrooms: ADA-compliant portable restrooms are located at major intersections (typically Cowper and Bryant Streets).
- Crowds: Arriving at 10 AM helps us beat the densest afternoon crowds, making it easier to navigate mobility devices.
๐ Parking & Transit
- Caltrain: The station is fully accessible with ramps; the plaza is directly adjacent to the festival entrance.
- ADA Parking: Dedicated spaces are available in City Lot R (440 Bryant St) and City Lot S (445 Bryant St).
- Rideshare: Use the Paratransit address above to avoid festival-related street closures.
โ ๏ธ What to Bring
- Sun & Heat Gear: Sunglasses, sunscreen, a hat, and a cooling vest or portable fan to help manage heat intolerance on the asphalt.
- Tote Bag: To carry any art finds or goodies (Palo Alto has a strict bag ban).
- Funds: The festival is free to enter, but you'll need money for food and drinks.
