Frameline Feature: “A Moment in the Reeds”
Founded in 1977, the San Francisco International LGBTQ Film Festival is the longest-running, largest and most widely recognized LGBTQ film exhibition event in the world and the most prominent and well-attended LGBTQ arts program in the Bay Area. Frameline Distribution is the only nonprofit distributor that solely caters to LGBTQ film. Frameline's mission is to change the world through the power of queer cinema. Come be part of the movie magic by volunteering for the screening of “A Moment in the Reeds,” a Finnish film about a handsome graduate student and a gentle Syrian refugee who meet by chance in the idyllic Finnish countryside and pursue a romantic relationship. This film is showing at the historic Victoria Theatre in the Mission. Read more about the film here: Duties may include seating people, keeping track of guests entering the theater, taking tickets, working will-call, line control, and encouraging people to vote by text for their favorite entries in the festival. Best of all, in addition to helping before and after the film, we get to sit and watch the film together! Due to the nature of this event, we ask that you arrive on time. Frameline will also order T-Shirts for all participants, so make sure to let us know what size T-shirt you wear. To learn how to volunteer for other Frameline screenings, visit their website: If you have questions about this event, please contact either Point Man Shawn Matloob here on Meetup, or Bridgemen Coordinator Alex Ray here on Meetup, by email at [masked] or by cell phone at[masked]
