[equinox celebration] pot luck shared meal (and immunity syrup!)

Details

Equinox marks the time where the light is equal in day and night; let's meet to explore Eastville Park, share a meal and make some syrup with berries!

Open to all, as always, whatever your experience of foraging so far, this is a community for people who want to meet in nature together, make new friends and learn new things.

What to expect:
6pm - 7.30pm we'll explore Eastville Park for the last of the elderberries, some hawthorns and maybe a few rose hips, we'll have lots of opportunity to chat, ask questions, share knowledge, recipes and experiences.
7.30pm - 9pm we'll head to the Bridge Farm barn for a shared meal and to make a communal immunity syrup

What to bring:
- everything you'd need for a relaxed walk like tupperware, water, a notepad, comfy clothes and sturdy shoes
- berries for syrup - forage beforehand, come to a walk or bring your own!
- bottles / jars to take home shared syrup (300ml-500ml)
- 200g or so of sugar
- some food for a shared meal (one portion will mean enough for everyone) if you're unable to bring some food, you are still v welcome, we will have enough for you!

Travel: the postcode for the meeting point at Eastville Park is BS5 6TQ the entrance opposite the petrol garage/ subway on Stapleton Rd - there's fences to lock up bikes along the park. The C6 and R11 bus gets there from centre of town.
The address for Bridge Farm is Glenfrome Rd, Bristol BS16 1BQ - there are railings to lock up bikes here but no parking onsite (residential roads surrounding). Any questions about this, let me know!

Accessibility: we will be on tarmac paths at the start and will move through the wood chip driveway to get to Bridge Farm, there is a small step to get into the barn at Bridge Farm. Please get in touch if you are unsure and we can adjust.

Safety and community care: to keep everyone safe, please do not attend if you are actively infectious with a cold, cough or other illness. Bristol Foraging Group is a neurodivergent, trans-inclusive, LGBTQIA+ friendly space in nature, all are welcome.

If you aren't able to cover the cost, let us know , we have bursary spaces available for you, especially for trans and global majority foragers, no questions asked!

Refunds: Swaps preferred over refunds - if you can't make it on the day, you're welcome to exchange your space for another date you can attend in future, just get in touch to swap over.
