Join us on September 13th when we take our 8th trip to the Renaissance Faire in Tuxedo Park NY. We have no theme so come dressed as your favorite being from any realm or time you choose! It is, after all, a big ball of wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey… stuff.
There is parking available if you choose to drive. Go to this site for driving directions: https://renfair.com/ny/directions-weather/
There are also buses that leave from Port Authority around 10am, that drop us off & pick us up at approximately 6:30pm, right in front of the Faire.
You can buy Faire Only tickets if you are driving, or the Bus Faire Combo ticket if you are riding with us from the Port Authority Bus Terminal. If you buy the bus ticket combo, be sure to PRINT YOUR CONFIRMATION and go to the ticket office the morning of to collect your bus ticket. This takes FOREVER. So we encourage you to arrive at 9am for the 10am bus. One year the first bus left at 9:15 am so be on time! Go to this site for more info about getting the bus: https://web.coachusa.com/shortline/booking.asp?action=ProductBooking&productId=3167&=1www.coachusa.com

This is Rain or Shine. If you have any questions, please let me know. Hope to see you there! Huzzah!
PS: Everyone that signs up will get a message with Erin or Dawn's cell phone, shortly before the trip, so we can find you at the bus terminal. Cell service can be spotty at the Faire itself, so let us know how you're getting to the Faire so we can have a meetup plan.
- BROOKLYN Smutty Book Club - Problematic Summer Romance by Ali HazelwoodPaddy's of Park Slope, Brooklyn, NY
Don't forget to join us for the Renaissance Faire on September 13th! There is a separate Meet-up listed for that date.
The book for September was recommended by Jenny: Problematic Summer Romance by Ali Hazelwood. It's a very steamy slow burn age-gap book. Half of it happens in Italy. It's a "perfect beach read."
Here's what the publisher says:
. Maya Killgore is twenty-three and still in the process of figuring out her life.
. Conor Harkness is thirty-eight, and Maya cannot stop thinking about him.
. It’s such a cliché, it almost makes her heart implode: older man and younger woman; successful biotech guy and struggling grad student; brother’s best friend and the girl he never even knew existed. As Conor loves to remind her, the power dynamic is too imbalanced. Any relationship between them would be problematic in too many ways to count, and Maya should just get over him. After all, he has made it clear that he wants her gone from his life.
. But not everything is as it seems—and clichés sometimes become plot twists.
. When Maya’s brother decides to get married in Taormina, she and Conor end up stuck together in a romantic Sicilian villa for over a week. There, on the beautiful Ionian coast, between ancient ruins, delicious foods, and natural caves, Maya realizes that Conor might be hiding something from her. And as the destination wedding begins to erupt out of control, she decides that a summer fling might be just what she needs—even if it’s a problematic one.The book for each month is chosen at the previous book club. So please come with your suggestions!
Please note: Paddy's of Park Slope serves plenty of drinks, but does not serve food. They welcome people to bring in food, or order in.
Happy reading. See you in September for Brooklyn Smutty Book Club!
