Brussels discovers Wallonie Picarde (and beyond)

BDW is excited to announce a hiking excursion scheduled for Sunday, May 12th, tracing the border between Wallonia, and East Flanders.
The hike will span approximately 6 to 10 kilometers, punctuated by two breaks at different cafes along the trail. The initial stretch will offer a moderate challenge, incorporating inclines leading to the heights of Notre Dame de la Vieille Montagne. Subsequently, we will descend and trail alongside the Dendre River until we reach the Walloon border.
The difficulty level will range from low to medium, and we will maintain a leisurely walking pace to facilitate conversation throughout the excursion. It's advisable to carry at least one liter of water and a snack for energy in your backpack.
Remember to wear suitable hiking shoes!

Here are some practical details:
Date: Sunday, May 12th, starting at 12:45 pm.
Meeting Point: Grammont (Geraardsbergen) Station at 12:37 pm (direct train from Brussels Central departing at 11:46 am). Access to Grammont station is convenient from Brussels via a direct train.
Please ensure you have had a meal before the hike or bring provisions for consumption en route.

Guidelines:
By participating in this event, you absolve the organizers (volunteers) of any liability in case of mishaps. It is crucial that you assess your physical capabilities and fitness level before joining.
Additionally, each participant is responsible for covering their own expenses at the cafes.

BDW is organizing an easy walk (+- 7km) in the city center of Tournai on Sunday, May 26th.
The departure will be from Tournai train station.
The walking pace will be slow to allow for conversation during the journey.
We will pass by all the most important monuments of the city with a stop at the Cathedral.
Don't forget to bring your walking shoes, a liter of water, and always a sweet snack with you.
The walk will take 2 to 3 hours, and it will be possible to have lunch in the city center afterward, at each individual's choice. Or you can bring your own meal.

Hello everyone,

On June 29th, a traditional festival called "Le Sabbat des sorcières" will take place in Wallonia Picarde, specifically in Ellezelles, within the picturesque region of Pays des Collines.

This event, deeply rooted in Belgian folklore, particularly in the region of Ellezelles, is celebrated annually.

We're organizing a meetup to participate in this unique celebration. Activities include a walk, and there will be food and drinks available on-site.

Please note that transportation via public transit may not be straightforward.
