Afternoon Board Gaming at Central Public Library

Calgary Public Library features a selection of board and card games available to all visitors. Let's spend part of the afternoon learning a new game you haven't played before! Organizer Brian K has booked a private board room and he will get 3 to 4 games from the collection for people to play. If we get 6 or more attendees, then 2 groups will be created and each group will play different games.

Brian is familiar with a few of the games and can teach them if needed.

Bring your own drinks and snacks (I would recommend you do), but we must follow the library rules and clean up after ourselves. The board room must be left "in the same condition it was found"; bring a drink with a lid, don't bring messy food, and clean up before you leave--the library rules are specific about this.

Game selection will be dependent on library availability.

RESERVATION:
Board room 3-20D has been booked by Brian for 9 people, from 2pm to 4pm. The room will be electronically locked from the outside, so Brian will need to be there to key in his library code and let you in. If Brian is running late, please wait outside the door until he arrives.

PUBLIC WASHROOMS:
2 sets of public washrooms are available close to the board room. If you need to use them during the event, let the group know so that they can let you back inside the room upon your return--board rooms are always locked from the outside.

PARKING:
You can park at the City of Calgary Lot 55 surface pay lot, located east of the library on the north side of Studio Bell (724 4th St. SE). You can park here for up to 3 hrs. Weekend daytime rate is $0.50 per 1/2 hr.

The large "Platform" multi-level parkade is also available 1 block south of the library, however maximum time here is only 2 hrs and you will need to manually renew your parking via ParkPlus app or ParkPlus website (pre-registration and loaded account balance needed). Weekend daytime rate is also $0.50 per 1/2 hr.

Other considerations:
- Non-messy snacks and drinks with lids are allowed in the meeting rooms. Per library rules, you are responsible for cleaning up after yourself if you spill anything.
- Board room is booked from 2pm to 4pm. We will need to end this event at 4pm and tidy the room before we leave.
- "No Shows", those that sign up but then don't show up, will be recorded. Please manage your RSVP accordingly--including Waitlisters. Organizers are keeping track of all event No Shows.
- If you are running late or otherwise need to contact the event organizer, please post a message in the Comments below.
- If you are feeling ill, please do not attempt to participate. Stay home and get better.
- Be respectful to others and observe personal boundaries. This includes the venue staff.
- If there are any concerns with another member's behaviour, let the event organizer know so this can be dealt with immediately.
- Do NOT make ANY changes to event arrangements with venue staff. The event organizers reserve the right to control of their events. If you have a concern with an event, talk to your event organizer instead!
