Landscape Alchemy: Natural Palettes with California Plants

Create a seasonal and local color palette from Northern California plant-based dyes. We’ll explore alchemy and biodiversity with a spectrum of holistic hues made from indigenous California plants and discuss the extensive range of natural palettes in weeds and chaparral plants. Together we’ll learn to “cook with color” and make a unique and biodiverse palette of botanically-dyed samples, finished take-home textiles exploring a range of surface design techniques in the process . . . and connect to a vibrant array of California fall colors.

This is a workshop from the Ahart Herbarium and requires registering and payment to support the function of the herbarium.
