What we’re about
This Group has been especially created for outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy a slow and paced hike, walk, drive, etc. This Group is also about road trips, camping, and boondocking, and each outing may contain a Geocaching activity (as announced in the Event itself).
There are no monthly or annual charges to join the Canadian Explorer Series Meetup Group. The host(s)/event organizers are volunteers and each event is free of charge (there will be no upfront charges or any type of advance payments/charges to join or attend an event). Carpooling discussions (and value) is the responsibility of the driver offering carpooling and the participant asking for carpooling. The host(s) are not responsible for arranging carpooling, or booking any campsites, hotels, airline tickets, food, insurance, etc.
Please note, as a requirement to you joining this Group, and/or an event, and for the safety of everyone, you must have a picture of yourself in your profile (pictures of flowers, animals, landscape, cars, your backpack, etc., are to be avoided).
Please refrain from starting or engaging in any form of political or religious discussions while attending an Event.

*This Event is weather dependent*
*This Event has Geocaching activities*The Ptarmigan Cirque hike in Kananaskis is an excellent beginner hiking trail. You’ll find impressive views of the Rocky Mountains on this short trail, without too much strenuous effort. It may be too early in the month to see patches of golden larch trees with mountain peaks surrounding the area. That being said, Ptarmigan Cirque is absolutely worth visiting any time of the year!
This is a very popular area for birding and hiking, so we'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime.
