Michelin Star Lilo, Oceanside at Chef's Counter Experience
Details
What I know - Instructions, read carefully please
Eric Bost (our Chef from Michelin Star Jeune et Jolie, Campfire, Wildland and most recently this restaurant, is amazing. This is not a Restaurant Review, although we will do that too.
This is an experience. Chef Eric created 24 Counter Seats. They present tastings of 8 -16 dishes, including Caviar, Wagyu and Maine Lobster. The ingredients are amazing and that's why when they opened within 2 weeks, they were given a Michelin Star. That is highly unusual.
The date you see IS NOT YET FINALIZED. If you can text me at 858-224-4485 right away, to let me know if this date is good for you, then when I talk to them, I can probably reserve the number of seats we need and at that point you will have 24 hours to go on their website or open table and book your seat yourself.
I am expecting that this will be a little like my trip to Lyon France, where I ate at Paul Bocuse Gastronomique. I sat there and with each bite said: "Wow. That's what it's supposed to taste like". Only I'm not paying to fly to France! lol
If you have been using Open Table a lot, they allow you to use points towards this experience. That's what I did. And even with points, it's still an arm and a leg. But I know it's going to be a meal I will think about, and talk about, years from now.
This is a VERY EXPENSIVE night out, a total treat that you book directly on Open Table. This is the date and time I will be there. You can join me by sending a text to 858-224-4485 to indicate you are available for the April date. I will text you a 'go ahead', once I confirm with the restaurant they have the space for us. Confirm by texting ME once you have booked it.
Hope to dine with you!

Michelin Star Chef's Counter at Lilo - Chef Eric Bost
A lively and immersive dining experience that welcomes you to celebrate life’s special moments, Lilo harnesses the untamed spirit of the California coast and the world's shorelines through a curated, seafood-focused multi-course tasting menu rooted in a thoughtful connection to nature, served around a 24-seat chef’s counter.
The team behind acclaimed Carlsbad restaurants Jeune et Jolie and Campfire have added this intimate, 22-seat tasting menu restaurant housed in a former boogie board factory that's the most ambitious yet. Star chef Eric Bost takes inspiration from the Southern California coast for his menus that include thoughtful dishes like spot prawns served with a sauce made of sea buckthorn, lime leaf, serrano pepper, and gooseberries. Everything is well thought out here, down to the drink pairings that offer standout wine, nonalcoholic beverages, or a mixed option, too.
