About us

Welcome to the CBUS Maker Meetup! We are a group for local folks who want to connect in-person while working on the art, craft, or creative project of their choice.

Whether you're an expert knitter, an embroidery enthusiast, a first-time adult colorer, or busting out your sketchbook after years of gathering dust—you are welcome here! This is a space to share your projects, exchange ideas, and connect with others who share the joy of making.

What to Expect

  • Open Maker Time: Most events will be casual "sit and stitch" style hangouts. Bring your current craft WIP (work in progress), start a new project, draw on your tablet, or knock out a coloring page while chatting with others doing the same.
  • All Mediums Welcome: From yarn crafts and hand-sewing to paper arts and digital drawing, all creative pursuits are welcome.
  • Low or No Cost: Our standard meetups are completely free to attend.
  • Future Activities: We love new ideas! We can plan future dates to try a specific activity or craft style together—just let us know what sounds fun.

A Quick Note on Logistics & Space:
Because we usually meet in community spaces like libraries, all projects must be portable and quiet (no power tools or sewing machines, please).

Our RSVP Policy:
We intentionally keep our meetup sizes small to better facilitate genuine conversation and connection. Because space is limited, please keep your RSVP accurate. If you can no longer make it, kindly update your status as soon as possible. Waitlisted members usually need at least 48 hours' notice to plan their attendance, so your mindfulness is incredibly appreciated!

All skill levels, from total beginners to lifelong crafters, are welcome. Come soak up the inspiration, support each other, and make something with us!
