There are a lot of reasons people believe misinformation—and it’s not just because they lack the facts. False beliefs are fueled by powerful social and psychological forces. Our identities, relationships, and information environments strongly shape what we believe and how we process evidence.

Join us on Thursday, August 7, at 7:00 p.m. ET for a Skeptical Inquirer Presents livestream with Matthew Facciani. His new book, Misguided: Where Misinformation Starts, How It Spreads, and What to Do About It, offers practical strategies for navigating a world full of falsehoods. Facciani will describe what research and real-world case studies tell us about how misinformation spreads and how we can respond more effectively, whether you’re trying to talk to a friend, become more aware of your own biases, or improve things more broadly.

This live online event is free, but advance registration is required. Sign up today!

Please check your email address for a confirmation email with the webinar link. The email may take up to 15 minutes to arrive.
