This group is for fans of Japanese anime, manga, and media. We gather to discuss our favorite shows, share recommendations, and more.

We hope it provides a safe space for people who like all things anime, including cosplay, gaming, and geek culture. With this group, you can expect events like conventions, films at local theaters, seasonal anime screenings, arcade nights, and more!
Our reoccurring events include the following:
- Seasonal Anime Screening (once a season)
- Picnic/Potluck (once a season)
- Arcade Nights (every month)
- Bring Your Own Manga Book Club (every month at a new coffee shop)

We have a girl's group (get in touch with Neikey, one of our organizers), and a guy's group (get in touch with Mike, one of our organizers) to provide a safe space for people and allow people to hang out offline.

i'm hoping to meet outside of West Town Public Library (1625 W Chicago Ave, Chicago, IL, 60622) and end at Roots Pizza (1924 W Chicago Ave, Chicago, IL 60622) if people want to grab some pizza afterwards (or where we end up depending on turnout).
schedule (goal is 20 minutes at each establishment/can vary due to taste of attendees/weekend traffic):
route A:- SUGOi Sweets - hand made, small-batch chocolate bonbons, caramels, and other confections
- Butterfly Cookies - cookies, brownies, pastries
- Puffy Cakes - Japanese cheesecake, authentic Hokkaido cheese tarts, and other artisanal pastries
- Hoosier Mama Pie Company - pie
- West Town Bakery - handcrafted pastries, artisan breads, custom cakes, brunch, and our famous cakeballs

i will have a Meetup sign, and periodically aim to update the group when we are moving. if you want to stay for just a few spots, feel free. if you want to stay for pizza at end (or where we end up), you're welcome to as well.
we will most likely do 2 routes, which will cover the same locations but above is the tentative route A (updaters will update a second route closer to the date).

please bring what you'd like to share with the group. here is a potluck signup sheet. i'll aim to bring a blanket, volleyball, frisbee, and board games at the least. please bring what you'd like people to participate in if you'd like to.
find us next to the main entrance at Ping Tom Memorial Park to start (Chinatown Pagoda should be right in front of you, and you should have crossed the train track). organizer and members will update where in the park we are. (organizer will have a Meetup logo).
