Chilled Out Meetups is one of Leeds biggest groups organising social events for 18 to 38 year olds. First time here? See information for new members by clicking this link.
Our events include an organised walk every other week (over summer), coffee and drinks socials, women-only events and one off visits to destinations in Leeds and sometimes further out. We also run 'one off' events from time to time, and hope to add more types of activities in future.
Are you in charge of a venue or other potential event destination? We'd love to hear from you about working together to put on a Meetup. In return for a space, we can offer a large group of new customers and potentially repeat business in the form of one our regular events. Feel free to send us a message.
ORGANISERS WANTED - Our group is co-owned equally by its organisers. Most decisions are made by organizers giving unanimous approval. If you're interested in running events let us know, no matter what type of event you want to do - remember as an organiser you decide the time, place and activity.
We are fully committed to everyone feeling safe and secure at events so there will be zero tolerance for any harassment, unwanted attention or any other disrespectful behavior. This is a space without any kind of prejudice including racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia etc. and this includes 'jokes' and 'memes', please take it elsewhere. We may organise women-only events - if this is a problem then this isn't the right group for you.
You can make a donation to the group here.
If you treat others with kindness and use some common sense you should get along fine here, but if you'd like to check our rules you can see them here.
Our financials are kept open for public viewing. You can see the ledger here.

New Members Afternoon (everyone welcome)
New and returning members - come along to meet other new members who want to network with people like you! We have hired out a private space at The Northern Market so you know who exactly is with the group. Plus, there's boozy drinks and street food on hand.
Everyone is welcome even if you've been to previous events but remember to be your friendly, inclusive selves as you normally are :)
How to find us
If using your phone, I recommend looking up the venue in the Google Maps app since the map on the Meetup app can be misleading.
The venue is on Great George St opposite Nelson Mandela Gardens. The venue is on the basement level from this side, so you will need to go down the set of exterior stairs to enter. Once inside, our space is all the way at the end, behind the main bar. You can ask the staff if you're not sure where to go.
The venue is a 5-10 minute walks from the Leeds rail station and all bus connections.
About the venue
We have booked a private room at The Northern Market - a food and specialty beer venue by Northern Monk. This venue has the best of all worlds, a great selection of food and drinks with our own space so we don't have to fight the public for tables.
This is casual dining so just head up to your chosen food stall or bar when you're ready to order. There's no assigned seats and you aren't stuck in the same place the whole event. If you're not hungry, you're still very much welcome to join us for a drink.
For more details about The Northern Market check out their link tree here.
Check out the menus here:
Six Slice - Quirky pizza vendor with a mix of classic toppings and interesting creations
Falafel Guys - Levantine food with vegan and omnivore options - falafel, halloumi and chicken shawarma in wraps
BigBuns - Burgers, fries and wings with veggie/vegan alternatives NOTE: Based on feedback from our prior event, the food from this vendor was disappointing. I recommend picking another option.

Still want more info about attending the group? I recommend reading our new members guide here. Remember, new members are allowed to come to any event, you just might prefer to come to this one first.
