Chilled Out Meetups (Leeds)

This event is for the singles - and the people in a relationship, the married, the divorced, the aromantic, the bombastic, the polyamorous, the monotheistic, the widowers, the partygoers - and everyone else.

It's all just a conspiracy by petrol stations to sell more flowers anyway so come and have a chat and a coffee with us.

About The Venue

Archive is a cool, minimalist venue reminiscent of a student union. They do hot drinks plus food (please see the section below). We will be in the room at the back of the venue, if you arrive before 1:00pm please grab a drink at the public café at the front of the venue until we're ready to go into our room.

Getting Here

Archive is on Kirkstall Road, a short walk or bus ride from the city centre.

On Foot: The venue is a 20 minute walk from city centre, directly down Kirkstall Road. It's also easily walkable from the Kirkstall, Burley and Headingley areas of Leeds.

Bus: The venue is a short bus ride from the centre with services leaving every few minutes. There are also some routes that run nearby from other areas of the city. I recommend using Google Maps (selecting the public transport option) or Moovit to see bus times and bus stop locations.

Car: The venue is adjacent to Kirkstall Road Car Park. The larger Burley Road Car Park is just a few minutes walk away. The prices at both are very reasonable compared to city centre parking and the amount can be paid on a smartphone (I don't think cash is accepted).

Train: The nearest rail station is Leeds.

To accommodate the space available, and to create a more intimate atmosphere, numbers are limited for this event. If you'd like to attend:

1. Join the Waitlist
2. Depending on availability, you will be manually moved from Waitlist to Going. Members who have a good track record of respecting group rules (especially in regards to RSVPs) will get priority, and 50% of spaces are reserved for women and non-binary members. Someone who joined the waitlist after you may be prioritised.
3. You'll receive a notification to let you know you have a slot
4. If you can no longer make it, change your RSVP to Not Going at least 24 hours before the event so someone else can have your slot.

Crooner Club has recently and unfortunately stopped operating, however don't fret (no pun intended) we're going to The Chemic Tavern in Meanwood instead.

Chilled Out Walks are back for 2026. We meet in the city centre for a leisurely paced walk to various locals sights and green spaces, followed by a drink or food. We're starting off with an easy but fun one - a trip around the multi-million pound new footbridges circling Armley Gyratory. Expect great views over the city centre.

So everyone can have a great experience...

1. Turn up on time - we no longer wait for latecomers
2. Keep the group together and don't sprint ahead
3. This is chilled out so slower walkers set the pace for all
4. If someone needs to stop for a moment, wait for them
5. Don't lead the group unless you know the directions

FAQs
Can you meet me part way through the walk?
Sorry, because these events can be busy it isn't practical to meet certain members somewhere else. Please come to the start point, if you want to cut the route short you are welcome to leave whenever you'd like.

What if bad weather is expected?
The host will review weather forecasts and, if necessary, delay or cancel the event. If this happens the decision will be clearly posted here, so unless you're advised otherwise you can assume the event is going ahead as expected. Light or intermittent rain will not cause the walk to be delayed. If you have concerns contact the host privately, speculating in the comments will likely be considered fearmongering and dealt with accordingly.

How do I get to the start point?
If you'd like to travel by train, the start point is directly adjacent to Leeds station. It should also be within a few minutes walk of all bus connections.

Where can I park my car?
The meeting point is very central so street level parking is hard to find, however there are multiple nearby multi-storey car parks you can use and these tend to have many free spaces on a weekend. Remember to leave an extra 10 minutes since it can take a while to park at these locations.

I'm running late can you wait?
This caused more problems than it solved so we no longer wait regardless of if you request it or not. Members tend to start arriving 15-20 minutes before the start of the walk so if you arrive early you shouldn't be alone. Since we meet in the city centre there are plenty of places to get a snack or hot drink whilst you wait. Aim to arrive early then even if you are delayed you will still get there on time.

Can I bring my dog?
Yes, as long as they are on a lead and wont intimidate other members.
