Chilled Out Meetups is one of Leeds biggest groups organising social events for 18 to 38 year olds. First time here? See information for new members by clicking this link.
Our events include an organised walk every other week (over summer), coffee and drinks socials, women-only events and one off visits to destinations in Leeds and sometimes further out. We also run 'one off' events from time to time, and hope to add more types of activities in future.
Are you in charge of a venue or other potential event destination? We'd love to hear from you about working together to put on a Meetup. In return for a space, we can offer a large group of new customers and potentially repeat business in the form of one our regular events. Feel free to send us a message.
ORGANISERS WANTED - Our group is co-owned equally by its organisers. Most decisions are made by organizers giving unanimous approval. If you're interested in running events let us know, no matter what type of event you want to do - remember as an organiser you decide the time, place and activity.
We are fully committed to everyone feeling safe and secure at events so there will be zero tolerance for any harassment, unwanted attention or any other disrespectful behavior. This is a space without any kind of prejudice including racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia etc. and this includes 'jokes' and 'memes', please take it elsewhere. We may organise women-only events - if this is a problem then this isn't the right group for you.
You can make a donation to the group here.
If you treat others with kindness and use some common sense you should get along fine here, but if you'd like to check our rules you can see them here.
Our financials are kept open for public viewing. You can see the ledger here.

Saturday Assembly (ft Richard Gilliver from The Atheist Experience)
Bridge End Social, 24-32 Bridge End, Leeds LS1 4DJ,, Leeds, GBFor our first Saturday Assembly in a while we'll be welcoming Richard Gilliver to give a talk about 'Why we believe what we believe'.
Richard is one of the hosts of The Atheist Experience and Talk Heathen - two YouTube channels which are known for viral videos of thought provoking discussions. In fact, if you've spent much time on the skeptic/humanist corner of YouTube you've likely come across a video featuring Richard before.
I originally intended speakers for Saturday Assembly to come from our own group, however I'm really happy to have this guest speaker and if its a hit we might do more of that.
About Saturday Assembly
These events are intended to be a place to share our thoughts and experiences so we can endeavor to have the best life possible whilst being kind to others.
This particular speaker has their own perspective however we encourage everyone to attend even if your perspective might be different.
About Bridge End Social
The venue is a couple of minutes walk away from the central part of the city centre and within 5-10 mins walk of all transport connections. You can park for free for 3 hours at Crown Point Shopping Centre nearby.
Boozy and soft drinks are served at the bar upstairs.
Have something to say? We need members like you!
We need volunteer members to give a talk at this event and at future events.
Some topics could be (but are not limited to):
• Confidence and self esteem
• Dealing with mental health struggles
• Navigating relationships with your friends and family
• Dealing with negative emotions like stress and grief
• Balancing life with working and studyingThe talk could include lessons from your own experiences, your studies, your culture and religion (keeping in mind of course the audience will be multi-faith). I absolutely encourage anyone with little or no public speaking to join in. The talks could be 100% scripted or entirely 'from the heart'. Pre-made audio and video recordings would be allowed as long as they were prepared by you, specifically for this.
In return you'd get a free drink or snack (depending on the venue), co-host credit for the event and public speaking experience for your work or study pursuits.
We have a more detailed speakers guide (work in progress) which you can view by clicking here. If you would like to speak, please send Kris a message with your idea for a talk.
