What we’re about
Hello Brothers and Sisters in Christian Singles Hangout (CSH),
Through this post, we like to share with you a few things:
1 - Transition of leadership of Christian Singles Hangout (CSH)
CSH was founded by Claressa. Under her leadership and prayers, CSH grew to a community of Christian singles for fellowship and activities. Some of them also got attached and married.
In Aug 2019, Claressa passed the reins of leadership to us - Julian, Shing Huei and Sylvia. In the last quarter of 2019, we organized a lunch gathering with games at Marina Square, Olive Vine Cafe.
Due to Covid restrictions, in 2020 we organized online events. In early 2021, when safe distancing measures were relaxed, we started planning for a year of events, while adhering to the safe distancing measures. After our cycling event in April, the heightened alert took place and we had to cancel our Captain Ball’s event in May.
We like to thank Claressa for her efforts, hard work and prayers invested into CSH.
2 - Update of your membership and profile details
We seek your help to update your profile. Most importantly, if you are currently attached or married, kindly exit the CSH group on your own initiative so that other members will not mistake you as single. If there are profile questions that are outdated, do update them as well.
3 - Profile picture and how it promotes safety and accountability
It is a requirement for all CSH members to join with a profile picture that shows the face clearly.
a) To allow identification when we gather - It will be difficult for us to know if someone joining our activities are CSH members without a photo in their profile.
b) To prevent scammers and fake profiles from entering CSH - we often receive requests to join CSH, many without a valid profile picture or with invalid responses to profile questions (such as the church they are attending). We rejected these requests and asked them to rejoin with accurate information.
We do what we can to try to protect our community. Although we know some of you personally and know that your profile is real, other CSH members do not know this, and may feel that there are double standards. As such, we ask that you update your profile picture with one that clearly shows your face (no group picture, no mask, so side view and no sunglasses). However, if it is not adhered to, we have to reject the profile.
4. No soliciting of any kind
(ie. personal business, marketing, politics etc)
5. Brewing Relationship
Just like your favourite cuppa, dating relationship takes time to brew. We encourage you to be unrushed in meeting the opposite gender and practice discernment when meeting anyone new. You may wish to consider meeting them in a group setting, allowing you to observe their natural self or one to one meeting in public places at appropriate timings for safety reasons. Remember not to feel pressured to say Yes to every new date if you are not comfortable.
Have a brew-ti-ful journey of friendships and love!
May the Lord's peace, joy and blessings be upon your life!
In Christ,
Julian, Shing Huei, Sylvia
