    https://www.facebook.com/events/1124582458242260?ref=newsfeed
We do ask that you bring something for a Pot Luck picnic throughout the day :)
-What exactly is Pagans in the Park?
Local pagans coming together, leaving drama at home, just to spend a Saturday in the park with workshops, vendors and a ritual at the end of the day. A low stress, meet and greet environment.
    -Does this cost me anything?
A small fee if you want to vend; it's free if you are just dropping by. We do ask if you'd bring some food to share, picnic type stuff. Stay as late as you like. Meet your local pagan groups and individuals. Learn, hang out, enjoy a local park.
-How often do you do this?
That depends on weather. Everybody agrees Central Florida summer outdoor activities are limited, but with cooler weather, we hope to do it more frequently.
-Who teaches the workshops? How do I get to teach mine?
Volunteers from the community teach workshops, and you'd be surprised what your local pagans know. If you want to teach, message us and we'll do our best to get you on the schedule.

    Sunday, February 12th- Gathering 5 - Ritual 5:30 - By Joe & Yuliya
    Pot Luck Feast
Raffle - Get 2 tickets if you bring a gift for the Raffle. Plus: bring cash for more tickets. TICKETS: $1 for 1 ticket, $5 for 7 tickets & $10 for 15 tickets

Join us Sunday, February 12th at the Circle for an enchanting ritual dedicated to the Celtic Goddess Brid. Participants are encouraged to wear white as we will be performing a traditional Imbolc ceremony. You are also asked to bring a personal offering for the Goddess.

As always, please remember to enter our Circle with an open heart and an open mind.

The name Imbolc refers to ewe’s milk. It was at this time of year that the sheep would begin lactating to feed the newly born lambs. This holiday is about birth. The earth is waking up from winter and flowers are starting to bloom as the snow melts. It is the beginning of the time of the goddess in her maiden form.
The main deity celebrated during Imbolc is the Celtic maiden goddess Brid; also known as Brighid, Brigit, Bride, and Breed. Attributes of the goddess Brid can be found in Saint Brigit of Ireland, whose feast day is February 1st.
The holiday is also known as Candlemas. As part of the festivities candles are lit to celebrate the sun's increasing power and spring's imminent return.

Brighid of the Mantle, encompass us
Lady of the Lambs, protect us
Keeper of the Hearth, kindle us,
    Beneath your mantle, gather us,
    And restore us to memory.
    Mothers of our mother,
    Fore-mothers strong
    Guide our hands in yours,
    Remind us how,
    To kindle the hearth,
    To keep it bright,
    To preserve the flame.
    Your hands upon ours,
    Our hands within yours,
    To kindle the light,
    Both day and night.
The Mantle of Brighid about us
The Memory of Brighid within us
The Protection of Brighid keeping us
From harm, from ignorance, from heartlessness.
    This day and night
    From dawn till dark
    From dark till dawn.

  • IN MEMORY & HONOR OF RAVEN GRIMASSI ~ April 12, 1951 - March 10, 2019

    Needs a location

In Memory & Honor of Raven Grimassi as a Pagan scholar with over 40 years of research and study. He's an award-winning author of over 20 books on Wicca, Witchcraft, and Inner Mystery teachings. His titles include The Witches' Craft, Italian Witchcraft, Witchcraft: A Mystery Tradition, Spirit of the Witch, Crafting Wiccan Traditions, Grimoire of the Thorn-Blooded Witch, Communing with the Ancestors, and many more for sale right here on this page. And you can have any book, DVD or CD personally autographed, of course, at no charge

Raven also co-created and co-authored the two oracle kits The Well Worn Path and The Hidden Path with Stephanie Taylor, illustrated by pagan artist Mickie Mueller. Raven is an initiate of several Witchcraft traditions including Strega, Brittic, Pictish Gaelic, and Celtic Traditionalist. He is also a recognized expert on Italian Witchcraft and the foremost authority on the works of Charles Godfrey Leland in this particular field.

Raven lived in New England with his wife and divided his time between writing and co- directing the Ash, Birch & Willow training system of Old Ways Witchcraft. Having been born on the festival day of the goddess Ceres (Patron of the Mysteries) Raven was devoted to preserving and teaching the Mystery Tradition of pre-Christian Europe.

    WICCA
Grimassi became involved with Wicca in 1969. He created his own system of witchcraft known as the "Aradian Tradition" ten years later, publishing it in print beginning in 1981. He is currently the co-directing elder of the Ash, Birch and Willow tradition. In 1994, the new age publisher Llewellyn Publications accepted his manuscript for Ways of the Strega, which was reprinted the following year as Italian Witchcraft: The Old Religion of Southern Europe .

    STREGHERIA
Reports that Grimassi claims to belong to a "family tradition" of religious witchcraft has opened him to criticism.

Professor Sabina Magliocco, a critic of some of Grimassi's claims, however points out that "Grimassi never claims to be reproducing exactly what was practiced by Italian immigrants to North America; he admits Italian-American immigrants "have adapted a few Wiccan elements into their ways". After personally meeting Grimassi, Professor Magliocco writes in her letter to the Pomegranate Reader's Forum:

I had the pleasure of meeting Raven Grimassi during the summer of 2001, unfortunately after the final draft of my article had already been submitted to The Pom. He was very gracious and helpful to me. From information he revealed during our interview, I can say with reasonable certainty that I believe him to have been initiated into a domestic tradition of folk magic and healing such as I describe in my article.

    AWARDS
Grimassi won "Book of the Year" and "First Place - Spirituality Book" from the Coalition of Visionary Retailers in 1998 for his book The Wiccan Mysteries, and his book the Encyclopedia of Wicca & Witchcraft was also awarded "Best Non-Fiction".

His publisher Weiser Books, produced the author's biography, Horns of Honor.

Ostara (Eostre) circa March 20, also known as the Spring or Vernal Equinox, is one of two dates where day and night are equal; a point of balance, after which the forces of light gain power and preeminence over the powers of darkness until it reaches its ultimate at Midsummer.

Deities honored during this festival are those of the maiden goddess and the youthful, warrior god. The sabbat takes its name from Eostra (Ostara), the Goddess of the Dawn, the Saxon Goddess who heralds the triumphant rebirth of the Sun and the return of the greening season. Hellenic traditions celebrate the return of Persephone, Demeter's daughter, from Hades. Some sects see this as the time of courtship between the God and the Goddess, whose relationship will then be consummated at the following sabbat of Beltaine.

Symbols of this holiday include eggs, rabbits, and flowers of all kinds. Modern secular activities such as the dying of Easter Eggs are remnants of ancient Pagan traditions. The Anglo-Saxons painted eggs with their hopes and dreams and presented them as a gift to Eostre. These eggs were then buried in the Earth, so that the Earth-Mother would know dreams of her children, in hopes that She would see fit to help them realize their desires. This practice predates Christianity by approximately 1000 years.

Rabbits (hares) were the companions of Eostre, and she is still often pictured with a hare by Her side. Because of their well-acknowledged reproductive ability, they are the perfect compliments to the start of a fertility-based season.

In many cultures, the Goddess was known not only as the Goddess of Fertility, but also as the Goddess of Grain. Therefore, special cakes and breads were baked and given to Her in offering. This tradition remained, long after the original reasons were lost, and we still see people baking special Easter breads and cakes today.

Other foods traditional to this season include those made of seeds, as well as pine nuts. Also, green leafy vegetables and sprouts are equally appropriate. Some groups create special dishes made of flowers, such as stuffed nasturtiums or carnation cupcakes.

    OSTARA Correspondences:
Colors: yellows, light greens, pale pink, Robin's egg blue
Symbols: eggs, hare, the God and Goddess in their youth, balance, fertility, rabbits, lambs
