Details

To join this trip, visit http://roc.org.au/trips/trip-info/?trip_id=5731 and click 'Join trip' at the bottom of that page.

Time 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
Training evening for learning/training/practicing some rope rescue skills.
Prior experience from rope sessions/canyoning/caving/trad climbing required.
This evening we'll focus on rescue skills applicable to canyoning and caving. Also highly relevant to climbing and mountaineering. This will not be as beginner friendly as other rope sessions as previous knowledge and experience is required.
The nights structure will be very casual, as to what's covered depends on who attends. Some of the things that could be covered are;

  • Anchors
  • SRT/DRT Ascending/descending
  • Passing knots.
  • Belays
  • Rebelays and redirects.
  • Releasable anchors and rope systems.
  • rope rescue / pickoffs / MA (Mechanical Advantage) Systems.
This is not a comprehensive list, if there's anything more you are interested in then let me know.
    What to bring:
  • Closed toe shoes.
  • Helmet.
  • Head torch.
  • Jumper (clothing appropriate for the weather).
  • Any rope gear you may have (harness, rope, hardware & software (not the IT stuff :) ect...).
  • snacks and drinks.
  • Wetsuit (optional)
Please state what your skills are and what you would like to learn/practice in the comments
... (see website for more details - http://roc.org.au/trips/trip-info/?trip_id=5731)

See you all there!
