There's a midweek trip drought... If you're like me and your "weekend" falls during the week, this is for you!
Midweek beginners, top ropers and sport climbers welcome!
The plan:
Carpool from Melbourne, meet at Turntable carpark at the You Yangs at 8:30am, and hike about 5 minutes into the crag. Climb until 4pm or when we feel like leaving.
The Climbing:
Feel free to check out the climbing on offer at this crag to get a feeling for what we'll be doing (https://www.thecrag.com/en/climbing/australia/the-you-yangs/area/12831709). Likely setting climbs up between grade 10-18.
For the initated you yangs climber, there's a wonderful 18 with an optional direct start (21) called springtime for hitler. For the fearless you yangs sport climber... these climbs are surprisingly well bolted! Feel free to rehearse on top rope and snag a respectable red point!
The details:
Equipment needed:

  • Climbing helmet, harness, climbing shoes (available for hire from ROC gear room)
  • Food and water for the day
  • Clothing appropriate for the weather and terrain including appropriate footwear for the walk-in
  • Sun protection/Waterproofs
  • Backpack
Gear available for hire from gear room if required (open on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:30-7:30pm).
    Trip Costs:
  • $10 for gear hire per person
  • Approx $20 for petrol
I’ll organise carpool closer ... (see website for more details - http://roc.org.au/trips/trip-info/?trip_id=5797)

See you all there!
