What we’re about
Providing presentations about Open Source, Python, Rust, Git, GitHub, GitLab, Docker, testing, web application development.
Code Mavens are people who want to make sure they build software in a way that benefits the client and end-users while keeping the developers sane and their company profitable.
We believe in Agile practices. Primarily we like to put the people first and encourage cooperation and mutual help.
We love Test automation, TDD when appropriate, Refactoring, Retrospectives, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment.
We think Continuous Improvement is critical. Both for the software and for the engineers.
At our meetings we focus on practice. In most cases we have short presentations and hands-on exercises. We experiment with pair programming and mob programming among many other things.

See all- Your first contribution to an Open Source Rust project (English, Virtual)Link visible for attendees
During this workshop you will learn about various aspects of contribution to an open source project. We will cover both the technical and the human aspects of contributing to an open source project. We will discuss both the technical and cultural differences between working in a company and contributing to an open source project.
Contributing a substantial improvement to an established open source project would probably take a lot more time than we have in this workshop so we are going to make some small, but still useful contributions to several open source projects.
You will learn and practice the technique of sending a pull request first via the web interface of GitHub and then using a cloned version of the project.
